A stupid question.
This is a stupid question but not my fault. The game does kiss all to show me how to activate a drop pod. Do I have to stand there for a certain amount of time or is there some secret combination of key presses to activate it? I have rolled my face over the keyboard without any favorable results.
The game is extremely light on any sort of information isn't it? I know it's basically VS in space but still it could make the bloody effort to befriend the player.

Clear the area of debris (all rock & stone and crystals) and then stay there until the meter fills.

The mission control guy literally tells you to clear the area of debris. Any rock wall in the radius has a pickaxe symbol on it. Once you've done so, the icon over the drop pod marker starts to fill in a line around it as you stand in the circle, and the line goes down if you step out of the circle before it's full. How much more clear can it be?

I didn't see any of that, not even a pinch, nothing. Not only that I was looking for something like that, anything that might give me a clue.

It's only an audio queue

Okay, well.... Get your eyes checked, then? Because they're not exactly subtle. And are you playing with your sounds off? Because the Mission Control guy telling you is an audio cue.

Think you should turn your monitor on so you might see the pickaxe on top of rocks.

And also you need to run in to the drop pod that lands to get the artifact.

My fault I was so immersed in the action that was the only place I was looking for some sort of indication of how to activate or at least know it WAS activated. It's there at the very top of the screen. I still have to mentally tell myself to check the top of the screen for messages.

It might have been better with some sort of indicator closer to the action because as you know, taking your eyes away from the action for a second can be the difference between life and death, especially when your a old git like me. What you young-uns find a piece of cake can be a major battle for us who are age challenged gamers. None the less most of us are still life time gamers, and always will be.

And that is also why they have an audio message when it's available. It's not always going to drop where you are, could be on the other side of the map, so you gotta go find it.

Oh I have no trouble finding it. My problem was knowing the the game knew I had found it. When I was inside the circle I was getting no feedback that the game had registered that I had arrived.

The circle will fill in when you stand in it and the outline is white, if it is beige'ish you need to clear out rocks inside the circle.

You mean like the audio message and the flashing indicator on your minimap? And, really, back up from the screen a bit if glancing to the top corner puts you in that much danger.

BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T CLEAR THE AREA LIKE THE MISSION CONTROL VOICE TOLD YOU TO DO. Like we've said repeatedly. MC guy says "Drop pod is prepared, clear the landing zone of clutter". ( Or similar message ) He literally tells you what you need to do. Why are you having so much trouble understanding this?
