The expectations you had of the game are not what you thought or wanted and you don't like it.
You have complaints about a game 3 weeks old.. in Early Access for $10 with a massive roadmap planned out.
Plenty of weapons are amazing at killing scores of bugs, and many that aren't get overclocks that allow them to do so.
I agree, some angles are weird.
Grenades do need a rework.
The weapons are mostly based on those in Deep Rock Galactic proper, with a few original ones. Maybe combining them can be a thing in the future, but currently that's probably not planned.
You can upgrade your armor, either permanently through meta progression or through finding upgrades in a run. If you mean getting different armor, cosmetics are planned, but are probably going to be some of the last things they add.
Bosco is getting updates down the line according to the roadmap. They even hope to make "Bosco only" runs an option.
More Overclocks are coming in the future that will likely have much stronger and much more drastic effects, along with more artifacts and other things to find that may very well give that power fantasy you desire. Personally I find the Autocannon to be an absolute beast, and many weapons (definitely not all) have a powerful lvl 18 OC that I can really feel the effect of.
And, if the devs find that the player is indeed too weak, they'll probably buff everything (or nerf the bugs) to deliver the power fantasy faster, but hopefully not also making the game trivial in the process.
In the new Vampire Survivor games you can reach God mode power levels and kill everything, if you get your builds right etc etc.
But whilst Vampire survivor may have created a new genre, it's only really the play style and isometric view that makes it different. Because in actuality this isn't new when you look at first person shooters.
Zombie survival games are basically same in principle look at killing floor, every round gets harder and harder, and you cannot reach the God mode levels of power in that.
It just seems this game is going more the Vampire Survival, but scales like a Zombie horde shooter.
Just have to accept a different game is different.
Just to be clear i completed original Deep Rock Galactic 100% (450hours) and Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor (40hours)
I'm pretty much a fan of Ghost Ship studio, supporting them with all support packs even not playing DRG anymore.
It's a good Deep Rock Galactic game, but it's not a very good Survival game.
The bad:
1. Mining added to Survival genre, great idea, i personally think it adds up a lot to gameplay. Devs decided: lets just leave directional weapon as it is, why adapt anything to new mechanic? So you shoot in the tunnels, rocks, crystals and even damn loot bugs that blocks your bullets without killing anyone.
2. Half of artifacts work on standing still... i can understand it in Vampire Survivor, Rogue Genesia, even Soulstone Survivor, but we need to mine in this game, we need to run as fast as possible to make it, because what? Because we have timer of the game itself (bugs became stronger), we have timer for shuttle (30 sec to escape). Seems like some one is not playing the game, but making it on the paper. Please start playing your own game and try standing still.
3. Aim mechanics. is really weird. Im running from boss, no other bugs on screen and grenades and weapons like autocannon shooting in the walls and in other directions from boss that is chasing me... Why? Have no idead at all.
4. Playing Engineer requires a button to put down turrets, not standing still when u are chased by a horde on Danger 5 level.
5. Class build seems a little strange, it's not like very bad, but if i want to dig fast with Driller i need to use first build class with Sabata (afair) weapon, why? Seems like it can be done much better, so players have variety and not only restrictions.
6. The run is short and you can't continue further. I have a great build that i like, no matter, i just kill boss and it's gameover. Let players go deeper on their will.
The good:
1. It's old, lovely and very atmospheric deep rock galactic game... voicing and visuals are just best in class. I got exactly what i waited for and im loving it.
2. You earn rare stones by playing and buff your account, and there are a lot of things to upgrade. Hope it will develop even more.
Overall impression: The game is ok for the pricetag, it has a huge potential, but seems like it's made by a really small team, mb the team who doesn't play survival games.
Rock and Stone!
2. Nope, not even close to half.
3. Some aim mechanics indeed are wonky.
4. Upgrade reload speed and you can lay down sentries while you walk. Or get the seismic thumper.
5. Driller is the weakest class and it could use some buffs.
6. Endless mode is coming.
ps. Look at the roadmap and you will see what is coming.
1. Penetrate walls if u choosen penetration, burning walls if you pick fire (so it will dmg passing enemies), etc... as mentioned if you spend 2-3 hours on drawing board you will get 5-10+ fun ideas how to deal with it.
2. The message was not only with standing aftifacts... only half of artifacts are rewarding... like 70hp + 2hp regen, crit and crit dmg, or get gold and nitra from mining, crit and dmg from nitra and gold. But a lot of artifacts 100% useless and unusable (how much time you took artifact for "get xp when getting hit" or "explode in a ring of fire dealing damage and burning nearby enemies"?). Im sure you tried it once and never took it again.
Especially was dissapointed with hard earned Pay2Win Console, draining gold not worth 100% dmg, u can get far more with upgrades from stage 1 to 5 (of course if u get it on stage 5, you will take it as you don't need gold anymore).
Artifacts can and maybe should act as syngergies to build... like fire burn longer... plasma richochet few more times... but it require time and effort and drawing board to think about it.
3. Agreed
4. I don't want my engineer build to be predifined with reload... mb i want powerhouse turret.
5. I can't say about weakest... i do enjoy how fast he traverse the zones, but weapon pick is pretty weak and pretty much close combat.
6. Good to hear.
7. Remembered one more annoying thing for me personally... Last stage not allowing you to spend Nitra and Gold (except gold for rerolling stats). So all Nitra you get on boss stage pretty useless (except it used by few artifacts). Maybe add a mechanic to roll with nitra (at least) or call for mobile shop or whatever.
Will check roadmap and thanks for responce.
Not really, given the mining mechanic isn't the primary focus, killing bugs is.
That's the nature of roguelikes/roguelites. Don't like it, don't play the genre. Learning to adapt to what the RNG throws at us is part of the fun for fans of the genre, though.
That's just a lie.
Eh, skill issue, really. I know that sounds trite, but that's literally what this is.
Then you're missing out on some awesome weapons.
Okay, you seriously don't know what the ♥♥♥♥ you're doing.
And? This is a Survivor genre game, not a carbon copy of Vampire Survivors
WTF are you talking about, you can get armor boosts on level up and between levels all the time.
On the development roadmap. This game IS Early Access after all.
And you get that here. It's just not super godmode like VS is. Many of us are here because we like the general concept but want a little challenge, and we get that here. If I want an easymode game, I'll play VS. Seriously, I own it and fire it up frequently specifically for that. I like having an option that's a similar style but more challenging, too.
Well....we go back to skill issue like above, because "have to get the perfect upgrades asap" is just plain false.

I found your inability to kill anything in this game.
Yeah, the **FEW** truly single target weapons make up for it by packing a PUNCH or having a high rate of fire and/or reload, plus they can usually be OC'd to pierce or some other effect that spreads the damage around a bit.
Yea. You need a healthy mix of Single target and AE weapons to deal with the bugs.
Single target to kill elites and stronger bugs and AE to clear the small ones.
Only AE will clear the small bugs fast but you will struggle hard with killing elites and bosses.
Only Single target and you will struggle to kill the swarm.
The only exceptions to this i can think of is if you have high level Seismic + leadbursters (both AE weapons that do massive damage)
But as you said, most single target weapons can get some form of armor piercing or status effect to boost their ability to kill things.
