But like utterly unplayable. I am stunned.
To be honest I asked around and many folks told me and in reviews that performance tanked in last update - I am shocked no one reported to you directly
No plugins, I ran it clean as oculus/openxr for air link, I even uninstalled steamvr (temporarily) and Virtual Desktop too as well as all non essential running processes, I really tried to get it running
I'll file a formal report on discord soon, thank you
Have a wonderful day
Thank you
lmao... are you serious?
Recently experienced: Finished the first boss, entered the next "episode", first level: Looking in one direction is completely smooth, turning around 180° and it's stuttering like crazy.
DX12 runs a little better, but still not smooth all the time, played with two different headsets: Rift S (80Hz) via Oculus software and Quest 3 (90Hz and 72Hz tested) via Virtual Desktop.
My system: Windows 11, Ryzen 5800x3d, 32 GB DDR4 @3600mhz, RTX 4070 Ti
Same terrible performance here with a RTX 3090 and i9 10900K (10cores and 20threads, 5.3Ghz).
Seems like a cpu issue - the stuttering was there even using low settings and Index res 100% - which should provide God-like performance.
Underdogs is totally smooth in 144 fps with Index res 500% (45 million pixels per frame combining both eyes). Same for Alyx with Ultra settings.
Something is very wrong with Amid Evil VR. I refunded.
DX11 on the other hand it dips down to 40fps when looking in specific directions and back to 90 in different direction. Seems something there f'ed up.
I don't recall a setting for DX11 and DX12, maybe I overlooked it - how do you change the api?
