Since the most recent update in 14 game days i have sold 1 water from the water cooler, no food from vending machine.
Once I'm in a good place, I do though because having to manage the food and water is a good way to get money, but the fun part is making the guns. There isn't a job for employees to restock those things, so I think its probably better that once the ammo stall opens, the rate at which people buy those things drops. Otherwise, there just isnt enough time to pick up the candy, look for gun parts, refill the ammo shelves, refill the shooting range, go gamble - see what I'm saying? I think its a balancing thing and a solution is just to not build the ammo table until you're ready.
[Side note, for anyone wondering why there's a keybinding for 'sprint' but noticed it doesn't seem to function in-game, it's because the ability to sprint IS, in fact, a skill you have a chance to gain through level up card draws. it'd be nice to have known that so I didn't spend several hours thinking my game was broken, lol.
I say the shoppers should come in with a pre-determined 'shopping list' and check to see what items are available. If they go to 1 of the 4 'containers' for what they want [gun, ammo, food, and/or water]. The player doesn't know what the customer wants until they go up to whatever respective 'container' has what they desire. If nothing is there [no gun, ammo, food, or water], the player takes a reputation hit. Only by making sure you have everything stocked at least a little bit assures you can go without losing rep.
side note, why are you going to the casino during the day? It's open all hours....just go at night so you no longer have to worry about your shop if that's 'too much' to handle.
I was wondering where the sprint went!
I agree with all your points.
I played the earlier version and then I came back and played this. A lot of improvements have been made. A part of me feels like maybe its too easy now, so when people say I'm not making money fast enough in the beginning, I just think...well, remember when the service shop wasn't a thing? The point though is, which is more fun? Is it enjoyable to really grind and earn the end-game set up which requires optimization or is it better to maybe have less stress and have more options which doesn't require as much. I don't know. I like the service shop a lot, I like doing the merchant aspect of the game, but just try not opening the ammo table and experience how fast water and the vending machine get sucked dry. Its like 1.5 boxes of food a day and 4-5 bottles of water when you include the toilets.
Though, if they were more profitable, I wouldn't mind, which is where you bring up the point about buffs. They're really slow though. I've got to play a long time to feel any different in returns if I'm only getting like a 1-3% increase in returns every few level ups.
Maybe the levels should require experience caps instead of continuously growing in xp requirements.
I didn't know it was open at night. Thanks for letting me know.
And don't 'quote me' like that. It makes you sound mean spirited. It is a reasonable point I brought up. You doing that makes it sound like I'm crazy or that only an idiot would feel that way. I am neither.
In short, my bad. Sorry about that.
I know what you mean, I really love the service portion as well. Sad part is, since I did the game along with the tutorial, I' mkinda stuck with having the ammo table now. x.x
You're cool. And I mean, if you like this game this much, you're double cool.
I've restarted like 3 times, its not that bad. Maybe just not restocking it would do the same thing. My reputation is awful, but I can save money by not hiring employees. So, for me, its just the food/water/bathrooms, the maintenance service, orders, and the firing range. I also learned not to just buy every part that's cheap because I'm a hoarder and will blow every penny that way. Which means I run back and forth a million times per in-game day.
My problem is that as much as I love a game, restarting is such a pain for me. I always hate having to re-earn, especially a game about collecting. I like my collection of things. As such, one of the few ways games can trick me into replaying a story is by offering New Game+ options.
Like Elden Ring, I've barely been to the Altus Plateau, and I have like 500+ hours played.
For Rise of Gun, once I'm rich and things are easy, I just don't feel like playing anymore.
Well, good talking to you. I gotta go. Take it easy.
