Color of parts guide?
Has anyone figured out what the colors of parts mean? As in if I match 3 green parts is it worth more money? I've seen green, purple, blue, yellow parts but not sure what the color does. Also, some parts have 1 or 2 dots at the top of their icon, what do the dots mean?

the parts dont matter. just the prices. the only thing is the more rare the part is the more expensive its likely to be, but since you are shown the prices you really dont need to care about rarity.

just buy parts that have green arrows and are the most expensive thing available. preferably anything over 50-100$ is what you are aiming for.

the dots indicate connections on that part.

yellow dots are required for the gun to be considered complete.

white dots are optional parts, scopes melee etc.

yellow dots only show on base parts i believe

Thanks for reply. I know the yellow dots on the gun mean you have to add something there for it to be complete, and the white dots are optional like scopes or silencers. The dots I'm talking about are the white dots on the parts themselves in your inventory?

And according to the dev, you should buy parts that have the red arrow meaning that part is below average price. The green indicates that part is overpriced and to high

The dots on items in the inventory indicate how many attachments can be installed on that part, an example is some barrels will have both dots/space for silencers & under barrel attachments while others only have one out of two dots just silencers, that's my understanding,

Thank you so much that is very helpful and makes sense!

This may be the intended gameplay loop, but right now the markup system for building guns encourages buying the overpriced items. Since, that markup goes off of the price you paid. So, say you have a fully upgraded bench with 30% markup.

You buy two barrels with an average price of $20. You buy one overpriced at $30 and one underpriced at $10. The overpriced one will sell for $39 and the underpriced one will sell for $13.

You want to buy the overpriced ones for your shelves and the underpriced ones for customer orders.

If the dev wanted to make the change to encourage buying items as cheaply as we could then they would make markup go off of average price, so the above barrel would sell for $26, regardless of how much money you paid for it.

Thank you, this is very interesting and I will check it out myself! So what about buying the underpriced barrel for example $20, would the parts guy pay more than the $20 you paid since you bought it undermarket value??

no Idea sadly. I'm pretty sure they will always pay less than you bought it for, but I couldn't answer that specifically. I never sell items back, I just use whatever I have to build guns. I'm not at a point that I actually have surplus parts beyond silencers or foregrips.

Yeah I've never sold parts back, I feel like I can make a gun with what I have and make more money than trying to sell them to the vendor

Yeah, but regarding say, the underpriced grip you bought for $20 and the average is $30. if you sold it back, you'd probably get like $15 for it. who knows, but just my assumption

So what i have seen is the contract board the costumer tells you the price they will pay for the part and if i find it cheap i make more money then if i buy the high priced ones so for a gun they may give you $150 and if you look at the parts list they will equal 30 for a grip 50 for the frame and 70 for a barrel and if you find them cheaper then you make more hope this helps

Yes this is correct
I dont understand how the dev could give "good" the colour red, and "bad" the colour green, thats sooo insane... and absolutly not self explaining

I totally agree. I adopted the saying I say to myself...Red is buy and Green is high! Works for me

I'm making about 5k a day in game now, and buying red absolutely earns me less with just a 25% markup table. All the same parts, but red vs green, I can make a 500$ gun or a 1200$ gun. If you hover over the item in the crafting inventory, it shows the price you paid, not the average value. This is what is modified by markup. If I put a 65$ grip on my gun, I increase the value by 83$. If I put a 40$ grip on it, it goes up by 50$. Paying more = earning more, that's my experience after a full in game month.

that’s right, that’s exactly how it works)), it’s also profitable to buy cheap spare parts for orders
