Secondary method to make money?
Right now as it is, you can screw yourself over in the first minute of the game if you decide to instead remove all the trash rather than go and build weapons. I suggest implementing a "safety net" where you could earn some extra cash in case this happens or just in general if you want an extra buck.

This extra income generator could be like minigames:
* working for the part seller, manufacturing those weapon parts or ammo;
* a zombie killing minigame where you get paid the higher the score;
* gambling? Though this is usually exploited in other games.

I'm just throwing some ideas. Game is fun :), really looking forward to its continued development.

hi, thanks for the feedback, it’s not a bad idea, most of the proposals have already been planned, and at the expense of losing money, it is possible to sell the parts to the seller, there are also a lot of made ones hidden at the Rada, then anyone who likes to explore can find them and sell them, thereby getting money if they have it was 0, or start the game over))

one way to earn some extra cash could be to work in the comunity garden (food place).
as it feels wierd that there is no food production.
yee I know the size of the farm space would be insane ralistic but you know something.
plus an easy way to add a lot of gameplay space and later add stuff around.

Defending the Town from Zombies with your guns would be an idea to get money as reward. Atm i am playing the demo. Maybe there is such a thing in the final version i havent met till now.

You can? I have not yet found them. And any parts I find do not respawn :(

its true you can soft lock yourself into trouble early on. that being said its stupidly easy to make money in game once you understand whats going on.

there are really good free parts laying around town. within the 2nd day you should have your first 1000.

> build a tip jar
>build the vending machine. it cost alot to clear away but after 16 cases of food it pays all of that back. everything after that is pure profit.
>make ammo. its basically free money that doubles itself.
>build the gun range in back. it too cost a lot and really is dependent on the sales you generate. if you are only selling to one or two people its going to generate money slowly. it will pay for itself too, i think you get +75 for every customer you sell a gun to that goes to use it.

really you dont need any of that. just upgrade your workbench to max as soon as possible.

then you just go into the store buy anything on the table with a green arrow, cobble it together in any gun and resell the weapon + the markup. you really cant lose money which is the bad part of the game.

keeping parts in inventory you cant use is what loses you money.

keep your inventory balanced. if you have 20 magazines and no bases, thats just tons of money in mags sitting in your inventory you cant use.

dont do orders. occasionally they are worth more than the 30% of markup from their parts you would normally get....but its more work that its worth really.

you mean the red arrow, the green one are the part with an higher price than normal, it's best to buy the red one since they are cheaper (a lots of them are half price or less).

if you have 20 magazine , it's 20 choice of part to use and 20 part you don't need to buy in hurry , it's best to raid the shop of red parts, ,even if it's only one type because the other are too pricely then wait for the change in inventory and complete your shopping after, part don't loose valor in storage so it's best to stockpile more and more of them

no the green arrow. the markup is based off the part cost. the green arrow means for that particular part its more, the red arrow means for the same part you are getting less.

30% of 100 is less than 30% of 200.

take the collective cost of all the parts in your gun, multiply them by the markup % that gives the sell price of the gun.

RED IS BAD GREEN IS GOOD

you are selling guns for a markup of the % COST OF THE PARTS

the less you pay for the parts the less you get for the gun

a gun that is made up of parts with red arrows you bought you are LOSING MONEY for the same parts if you had bought them with GREEN ARROWS

parts are not sold at a fixed cost the arrows indicate you are getting less than the average cost for those parts.

take a drum mag.

the average is around 40ish

if you buy a drum for 30 it will have a red arrow

if you buy it for 50 it will have a green
total cost of the parts + (total cost of the parts * markup) = sale price
30 + (30 * .30 = 9) = 39
50 + (50 * .30 = 15) = 65

technically you make money either way. but with green arrow parts you make more

and no having 20 mags in your inv you cant use is a waste of money.

it doesnt matter what you buy in the store as long as it has a green arrow.

once you rank up both the seller you will never not have enough parts. you can buy from the sellers and just return a hour later and their stock will REFRESH.

if you have 10,000 dollars in parts in your inventory that is 10,000 you cant use. it just sits there. the point is to have it in cash form you can then buy more parts with.

i think we can sum it at red good in the early game , since you don't have a lot of money or for order ,since the selling price is fixed, you need to get the part as cheap as possible.
the green part are middle to end game since you will need a good treasury to buy them and its too heavy investment in the early stage
i always have a good number of part in storage because i do a lot of custom weapon , it's best in that case to have the maximum of part in good number and the cheapest possible, but if you're not into it , yeah it's pointless
Nightwolf Apr 2, 2024 @ 8:51pm
.....no red is bad. and early game only exist on day 1. if you got all the spare parts around town by day 2 you have 1000 in your bank. you just go to the store get the cheapest green arrow parts you can get to assemble basic guns and resell them at markup.

thats it. thats literally all you do. custom orders are worthless

by day 4 you are sitting on 4-5k
