I'm not harping on the voice actors, I should have made that clearer. My point is that all the girls are doing the same type of stereotypical high-schooler accent voices, so when one speaks, all I have to know who's talking is their names which I have to memorize. When they talk, they don't open their mouths most of the time unless they're surprised/disgusted/etc.
On top of this, this VN has voice acting that progresses the text automatically after they speak, so I won't even have time to process who it was that's speaking fast enough. Is it really so much to ask that the girls open their mouths when their dialogue is due, it really shouldn't be an issue in the first place. I really don't see the point of not doing this, it only causes confusion.
That is not the problem here, I'm Canadian and English is my first language, I've watched English entertainment my whole life, and they make an effort to make them sound different. And even if they didn't, any time I saw US teenagers in media I never had to distinguish between them through sound alone cause they always open their mouths.
And even if the problem was me, you'd just be alienating everyone except select Americans who've talked to people like that. And that simple problem could have been alleviated with any sort of indication of who's talking, whether it be open mouths, or colored names as M3OW recommends.
I'm literally retarded as I only started learning to read when I was 13 years old. I don't speak correct english nor have an english accent. Yet I have never mistaken either of them as another person. I am not american, I am not of a native english speaking ethnicity. Please consider transgender surgery if you have weak hearing.
I wasn't even the one who brought this argument forward in the first place.
