Cheating for gold allowed?
I'm curious what the dev & steams stance is on cheating for gold/ Since it's single player game there wouldn't typically be an issue with players using cheat engine or some other device to cheat their way to blacksmith upgrades or such. However; the developer has in ap purchases within the game; meaning players who cheat in gold and spread methods are going to remove potential revenue from the devs

If you don't want to cheat you can can give me the money and send me the save file and I'll make sure that you load your game with enough gold.

(OBVIOUSLY this is a joke.. but it sounds no different than the other posts above..)

Well, let's put this into another example.

Let's assume that you don't like Peanut Butter cakes. If you ever go to a Bakery Shop that sells Peanut Butter cakes, will you ever steal that cake just because you don't like the cake?

I believe the answer lies in this situation. (:

I believe the correct comparison would be: I bought a Peanut Butter Cake, but I have to pay an extra 10 bucks to the bakery for permission to cover it with frosting. It's my cake and I should be allowed to do as I please with it.

This is paying for cheats and is something I'd like to see go away. I can totally support paying for extra content where actual work has been put on, but the effort put into this is minimal at best. I love this game and paid for the deluxe edition, but I'll be damned if I support this practice.

Actually it is more like, you pay $1 for the bottle of beer, but if you want to open it, will cost your $10 for the bottle cap opener.

I say we form a lynch mob and attack anything with a questionable business model, regardless of quality/content. And while we are at it, let's make an example of these developers by showing them the true power of equality. But let's not stop there. Once we are done exterminating them let's revolt against every other mmorpg focused on a business model that requires you to pay more than what you already pay (payed.) At no point will we stop to think that we have the ability to complete/unlock/aquire everything the game has to offer by paying the original price. We will also not stop to think about the fantastic possibility that all of this makes the average person feel less superior because other people they will never meet have an advantage over the time spent beating the game. Which isn't an issue since we already live in a society were we finish everything as fast as possible, sacrificing any form of pleasurable entretainment other than sex. And that is even rushed nowadays. IT'S MY MONEY AND I NEED IT NOW!

Hmm this is sort of deep. Take the pebble from my hand grasshopper. Well if I understand this proverb, you won't steal things you don't like. So technically if they memory edit their game files to add gold, they aren't stealing it from the store, because they made counterfit peanut butter cakes instead. Wait.. I think I am more confused now.

Editing data from something you own doesnt make it wrong, paying the devs to edit it for you and giveing it to you in game is more like a service.
