Paradox account. Is register necessary?

Hi, when I start the game I was surprised with the request to create a Paradox account, asking my birthdate, user, password, e-mail, and neededing to read and accept a long text about terms of use, and i have no time to read such long text that I did not expected, and I did not see about this need to create account in game description :( .

My question is: is this register totally necessary? (i was not expecting to need to create a game account when i bought the game, I just bought to support the developers because i think is cute game that can be fun).

Could i just play with "Guest" option? and could I play with Steam in disconnected-offline mode or it needs initial server connection? (I usually have no internet and i play in this mode)

Before the last update there wasn't a register thing on gamestart and after the update i ever played as "guest" and it worked just fine.

You don't really need to create an account for play however i don't know what happens if you actually create it, probably nothing :)

about using the game in offline mode i can't help you, i play ever whit steam online. But since the game is SINGLEPLAYER ONLY probably should works.

Thank you for your answer, Oliarco. I have been testing the game last days, with Steam in offline mode, and it worked well, using "Guest" option, without register account.
I was thinking the account register maybe was added because those games first versions were originally developed for phones, then the register adds more security for possible in-game micro transactions (i readed that part 2 has them). Just i think the "account register" should be described in the game info in the store, because register new account is always a headache :)

Guest works for me as well. I just started this back up this week and it was a little jarring to have that appear as the first thing.

I am at a loss.. I had 11 hours of progess in the game there is a random update and all of a sudden I cannot play the game I need a paradox account.. i tried putting guest but all my game progress has now been reset.. this greatly upsets me.. where is my 11 hours of gameplay!!!! I want my gameplay back where I was before this BS update requiring a paradox account
