Failed to find a default database to use

i tried everything i talked too many people but nobody can solve this

when i click the play in steam .. it gives this error : Warning : failed to find default database to use.please make sure your installation is not corrupt. then 5-6 seconds later gives this : Application Error : A serious error was encountered and the application will close.An error file has been generated in C:\Users\UserX\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2014\crash dumps\FM2014 v.14.1.3.438735.dmp

Do you have any kind of anti-virus installed? If so, what type?

i had mcafee but already delete it .. i am using toshiba qosmio x870 ...gtx670M also has intel hd graphics 4000.. but i disabled intel now and still not working...

Are you trying to use any edits on your game at all?

Is this a platform-specific problem or a problem with the game? I ask because I'm getting the same error with FM2014 but on Ubuntu. If it's a platform thing, I'll open my own thread.

Same result (application error and crash) but slightly different cause (it appears). I added my dump output to your thread so we can compare notes.

Try right-clicking on the shortcut and running as administrator. If that doesn't work, I'd suggest trying to run it in compatibility mode for a different OS (again can be done by right-clicking on the shortcut and going to properties -> compatibility ) - let me know if this helps at all. Thanks.

I'll assume you're talking to the OP since scamar and I are running Linux. ;)

Yeah, sadly a Windows only attempted fix.
