Best training
How do you guys make sure your players are getting the best training?
Im Man Utd on first season playing with avarage training but most of my players are getting red stats rather than green.
Does it mean i have to keep it heavy? Because that risks alot of injuries. I already have the training meter to max, and somehow it says its still low effort.

This is the first FM game to not have training schedules it seems but now im asking the FM14 pros, what is the best training schedule u use ?

Always have personal training on heavy workload.
Moogy 7 jan, 2014 @ 11:38
why ?
ExiaRS 7 jan, 2014 @ 11:40
Because player is faster developed AFAIK.

Well obviously having a heavy workload is going to get players training harder, but...SOME players don't react to it well at all, and what about when you have busy schedules? not such a great idea then is it? players can become tired and then play awful, and you have a much higher risk of injury too, to which then players attributes will drop a lot.

If you actually set your assistant to do the training for you, you can actually see in the training schedule what your assistant is training, and the workload he's giving the players, and he normally sets the workload on ''low'' or ''medium'' during the season.

So I'd be very careful about setting it on a ''Heavy'' workload throughout the season. But during Pre -Season, sure.

I've been using heavy workload since FM 2007 and apart from some players being unhappy about it never had any major issues. And the unhappiness has a minimal effect on their overall morale.
ExiaRS 8 jan, 2014 @ 2:08
If you manage high profile club, only moaners about heavy training are subpar players, and you know then you can sell/release them.

I had weird situation that Gibbs wasn't happy with his average training so I put him on heavy and he became happy, ha ha.
Tbh it's not something I'm going to argue against, as I simply do not know...but still, players being unhappy isn't really the only negative effect it can have...having heavy general training all throughout the season is bound to tire players way before the season ends?

And do you rest before matches? and after matches too?

You have to think that if there wasn't no negative effects to training your players on a heavy workload, then surely there wouldn't be an option to train less? There's benefits to low Training too, and resting players.

There is misunderstanding.

I talked about individual training, not general. Of course average general traning always (except for preseason) with one day rest after match.

I talked about heavy individual training. There are players who are perfect with it or even want it like Gibbs in my case.
Moogy 8 jan, 2014 @ 4:04
interesting :)
I find this quite useful, although im not gonna try heavy, i usually do low or med.
But using the assistant seems to be way to go.

Although while doing general training, i never seem to get to heavy workload, no matter where i stretch the line :P
Its always low or medium overall workout.

I guess i dont really want it to be heavy but i want to know where endline is, as i want to max the players training potential :P Fiddy has been describing that very well.

Fair enough ;)

Although...Giving your players individual training or a mixture of general and individual training together stills adds to the overall workload of that player. It's the overall workload is what matters...

I guess that wouldn't be such a bad idea when you have a young player in the squad who doesn't play as much as other 1st teamers...Infact, I'm going to start doing that myself.

Also what people musn't forget is that games build attributes too, even more so than training itself...and when players perform well, you notice the green arrows on the training screen go up even more...

Players with good morale also train even better.

Training is really just a substitute for when your players are not playing games ;)

For once this is a really good discussion with diffrent opinions divided in a friendly manner for a change Fiddypence2010 u certainly are a fountain of knowledge when it comes to FM i'll give you that mate :)
^^^^Cheers mate ;)

I feel some people can look into training too much, always expecting to see those green arrows showing throughout the whole season, which I don't think will happen (apart from younger players with the potential there to really grow). What matters is the end of the year training report you get, because at times players will slack in training, and will perform bad too.

And also don't expect too much from older players, like... Moogy shouldn't be too worried about Vidic...he's at an age where he reached his potential a long time ago, he'll only slowly get worse technically and physically no matter how hard you train him. Vidic is at an age where I personally would individually train him for his preferred postion/role...like as a ''Central Defender'' for example.

I've always developed my players to a good enough standard, and I personally think to get the best from players is by giving them game time, and to get them playing well, whilst not over training them throughout the season...with them 3 things combined I've noticed a lot of difference (although I could no doubt improve so much more with the right advice).

If someone could explain to me how to post a post a screen shot, I'd be more than happy to show a few of my youngsters that I've built up over the years...I've got a Spurs save that's in the 2017/18 season...with both Luke Shaw and Will Hughes in it, I've developed them into beasts.

And I've really put a lot of that down to how well I've got them performing for my team, and I really try to give them as many League games as possible.

But Training is by far the hardest part of FM in my opinion, you can put a hell of a lot of time into it, but it's crucial to really know what you're doing to get the best results in both player development and on pitch performances.
Ok, I've sussed it how to post screenshots, here's some of my players that I've trained over the years (I'm in my 5th season now)...

Nice, Shaw and Crisetig are super good players, you have a pretty interesting team there.
Are you beating premier usually with this team ?
Yes, Shaw, Crisetig and Hughes have been my best players that have grown a lot. Will Hughes is my personal favourite, simply because of how cheap you can get him, and how quick he can develop...also, Hughes is very versatile who can be used in a few postions and can play a number of player role's to a very good standard.

And yes it's a very good team, they've won The Premiership and European cups ;) It's always that first season I tend to struggle, moulding a team to how I want them to play and obviously it takes time buy and selling the right players to suit your system.
