Never had a problem with FM2014. People who moan about doing so are usually the ones who expect to plug in someone else's tactics, hit Continue, and win every match.

I guess people miss the days of Champ Manager 01/02 and what a game that was :)

The fact they dumbed down the training system was something i never understood.

Fm14 is ok, The AI is an issue for me, like to have pretty long career saves and after maybe 3 years max is simply too easy. The comp managers are terrible in the transfer market and the financial management of clubs in wages and contracts.

I have issues with FM14 and i stay as far away from downloading other people's tactics because that pretty much makes the game pointless for me, personally. My issue with FM14 is the Match Engine and the new tactics system (possibly due to my lack of understanding of the new tactics creator), However, at the same time the tactics creator for me is lacking/limited, for me.

I notice 2 problems

1: very high own goal rate (used different tactics with different teams)
2: the assistant manager is a complete liar

the only problem with transfers is the game does not take into account the value of players from different countries ie a guy at Brechen is NEVER!!!! EVER!!!!!! going to be sold for 5million yet it happened here.

i like the game i have fun however my one problem is tactics are poorly used by players and the transfer system is a but dodgy. but other than that it is a great game

Call me a fanboy, but I'm fairly happy with the final version of this years FM. Up until the final couple of patches, the game was utter ♥♥♥♥. Specifically, the ME was atrocious and transfers were unrealistic.

But, per usual, SI waited until the end of their production cycle to fix their game and make it playable.

The game isn't perfect. Some transfers are still a little wonky. But by and large, I'm happy with the game and play it pretty regularly still.

This might even be the year that I wait until the new FM (FM 15) is on serious discount before I buy it.

I'm starting to wonder why anyone on either side participates in releases. Production cycle my ass.

because it's the same game every year apart from the match engine

Out of curiosity, what does actually change year by year? This post seems a little misleading, although it did remind me of another poster wanting just a re-skin and update for FM15. :p

Hope that the fix the game engine for better graphics. And the A.i off the players.

I respect those who have no problems with the game even up untill this point, im happy for all people who do still enjoy it. But for me personally the game i love is ruined for me when it comes to watching the games. The game has never been perfect, but this year just seems unbearable for me to watch a match in full like i used to in previous versions of the game. I just cant go back to them anymore because i feel that they're out-dated. Im just hoping for a big improvement in FM15. Im keeping the faith, id hate to completely lose the love i have for FM which is by far my most played game, including console games.

I actually watch quite a number of matches in full. I'm noticing today that it is a lot more unbearable if your team is losing. Otherwise so far it has been rather savory. Nomnomnom. Your use of "tactics creator" and having to have some sort of familiarity with it makes me question the validity of what you're implying. Almost ridiculously pretentious. The tactics creator wizard or whatever it is is simple to use. What you seem to be trying to say is that you suck tactically, which is understandable. In my limited experience there is actually a lot of room to improve personally. Not rocket science but can be very frustrating.

For instance, using registas made a dramatic positive difference for me and I'm just noticing that having my FBs on automatic is for some reason resulting in poorer creation in a way that doesn't seem to be very intuitive. In both cases counter-intuitiveness has been a root cause of frustration. In the former I could understand how registas can transform attacks/possessions, particularly after seeing the effect, but it frustrated me that using a Ball Winning Midfielder instead ultimately just seemed to be a liability on the defensive end of play too.

When i mentioned the Tactics creator as a feature that i dont like about the game, what i meant is that for me its quite difficult to implement your (my) own vision for the way you want your team to play. When it was the 'sliders', i had much less of a problem at getting teams to play the way i wanted them to which varied in certain situations/matches. My problem with this new way of creating tactics is that it is much more limited to what it has beeen in the past, and not very clear. Although some people do find it easier, i find it dumbed down which has made it much more difficult to implement ideas. for example, not being able to give specific players more creative freedom than others. The concept of creative freedom is not spread across the team and is effected by Mentality and Fluidity. It's all just a mess now for me, personally lol I cant speak for anyone else

How can roles and instructions be dumber than arrows? I have been scratching my head at there being no individual creative freedom instruction (is more risky passing enough?) but on the whole I very much doubt the arrows made for a better game. If anything SI should be praised for taking a big step forward.
KiingAllen Aug 18, 2014 @ 9:59am
All arrows did was indicate wether a players made forward runs or not... I never once mentioned arrows. Creative freedom is not only about passing either, as far as im concerned.
