I just started playing 17. Its grown too big for me. Far too much to do. Im gonna go back to 14 or even further back. Its become a 6 course meal in this day and age. The morale thing is a joke in 17. It pretty much determines the matches outcome. Say the wrong thing and your player plays crap. Real life is not like that.

FM14 is still my prefered game. Way to many penalties but the ME is good. FM15-17 was just bad, FM18 have to much issues.

The FM- love of my life is 07, but that's also because of multiplayer memories. Tried also 10 and now- 14. The later is a solid and playable game. As people already said- just at the balance point where the innovations are implemented and more or less polished, but it's still not too- muc- of- everything.
p.s.: now, time to try and make Grimsby Town great again!

I have many memories about CM 03/04 and I spent lot of time at FM 08 (single / multi player). Now I've been playing the 14 for a long time but I always delete and start over.

For me, best and the most fluid one was 08. But 14 is quite awesome because of the details. I didn't buy the 15-16-17-18 but I looked at my friends' but there is so much mambo jambo in there.

I don´t like the bounce of the ball on FM 14. For me the best games are 11 and 12.

2014 is just about the pinnacle, agree with poster above, 2009 is also great, but it's definitely all downhill from here, the current one is by far the worst, lazy development, addiction to getting triple A money for a patch and database update and too many useless features shoehorned in have pretty much clogged the game up, the game loses its flow after this version.

I got only the one grip, thats when the keeper has the ball in his area and you want him to play a short pass or pump it long down the line ,Hump I rekon 90% he'll hit it into touch for a throw ,anybody else experencing that too?

I own all of them ... Well right up to 17, i did buy 18 but refunded it. I have the most hours on 14, after 14 they just seemed to go down hill ... Get to complicated and for me just less fun.

Apart from greed and unnecessary complexity, for me what got worse were the talks in the game. Any talk, any relationship: to the press, to other managers, to agents, and especially to players.

It's just too repetitive, pointless, frustrating, irritating. And the absurd sensitivity of players, who you can't even punish properly, the absurd pay/contract demands, the rapacious agents... that part may reflect real life, but even in FM14 gets annoying fast.

I doubt most customers wanted this. It's just a bad idea, poorly implemented, that keeps getting worse. Considering the rest, I really can't understand people who keep buying FM every year.

I was also astonished about the FM series quality decline over these past years. I bought and enjoyed it every year from 09 to 14, but after 14 my interest on the franchise vanished, specially for the high price and the features not being that "evolved" compared with the former versions I already own.

I tried the 2018 demo, and yes, the game UI and match engine seemed more fluid and refined and had nice little touches here and there, but the core game feel was not what I expected, and overall I found myself enjoying the 2014 version much more.

So I have just started a new campaign with FM 2014, and -unfortunately- I think I can keep playing it for a few more years without missing the new games of the franchise. I just can hope for SI or any other game developer to change my opinion in the coming years.
