I just started playing 17. Its grown too big for me. Far too much to do. Im gonna go back to 14 or even further back. Its become a 6 course meal in this day and age. The morale thing is a joke in 17. It pretty much determines the matches outcome. Say the wrong thing and your player plays crap. Real life is not like that.
p.s.: now, time to try and make Grimsby Town great again!
For me, best and the most fluid one was 08. But 14 is quite awesome because of the details. I didn't buy the 15-16-17-18 but I looked at my friends' but there is so much mambo jambo in there.
It's just too repetitive, pointless, frustrating, irritating. And the absurd sensitivity of players, who you can't even punish properly, the absurd pay/contract demands, the rapacious agents... that part may reflect real life, but even in FM14 gets annoying fast.
I doubt most customers wanted this. It's just a bad idea, poorly implemented, that keeps getting worse. Considering the rest, I really can't understand people who keep buying FM every year.
I tried the 2018 demo, and yes, the game UI and match engine seemed more fluid and refined and had nice little touches here and there, but the core game feel was not what I expected, and overall I found myself enjoying the 2014 version much more.
So I have just started a new campaign with FM 2014, and -unfortunately- I think I can keep playing it for a few more years without missing the new games of the franchise. I just can hope for SI or any other game developer to change my opinion in the coming years.
