What's with all the fake reviews?

Lol it just keeps getting worse. They built all this fake hype with shills just to get less than 100 concurrent players on Steam.

I'm sure some of the positive reviews are real, but as someone who left a detailed negative review, it just doesn't scratch the metroidvania itch or push the genre in any way in the slightest. There are plenty of folks who would love this simpler take on a metroidvania.

Also saying "no other metroidvanias in recent years" is a blatant lie. Momodora: Moonlit Farewell released this year and ENDER Magnolia is in early access with plenty of others peppered over the years with high praise. I was excited for this title when it was announced and preordered, but it just isn't fun to me.

For all we know those were created by the person who snapped the screenshots to support their worldview.

I actually have spent many years working at one of the world's largest and most respected PR firms and no, these don't read like PR speak. At all. Also, if you worked at a PR firm you'd know that any agency worth their salt, especially in the gaming industry, wouldn't falsify reviews here on Steam. AND there's no precedent for that.

Plus, I didn't say any agency is actually involved, I just said that it really "sounds like that." Another explanation, for example, is that it's positive review bombing organized by some ideologues. Doesn't make those reviews less fake.
