How to disable voice chat online?

I want to play with my friend while on discord and I don't want my mic being picked up in game, how to disable?

Seems like the only way (that I can see) is to go into Steam Client Settings < Voice tab and then change "Voice Transmission Type" to "Push-to-Talk" (the usual key is left/right ALT).

I couldn't get the push to talk method to work, but what I did was set a different output device as my system default, muted that and set my main mic as default communication device for discord and that seems to work.

You can click profiles before match start & mute ppl, lame there's no permanent issue. Any fix for fps drops online?
