Can someone give me the dummies guide for reversals?

I don't understand it. Can I only triangle (ps4) strikes and have to guess square,x,o grabs? Can I spam those buttons or do they still need to be timed? I've seen people talking about spamming triangle but I don't get how that works because wouldn't you just get early timing for everything?

Sometimes I press O and don't reverse the whip, why do some grabs have triangle prompts? Help meeee

If the opponent Attacks you and you get a Reversal you gotta press Triangle with the correct timing to Reverse it. If the Opponent Light Punches (Triangle?) you and you are spamming the light punch button (Triangle?) you might counter it. If the Opponent Heavy Punches (X?) you and you are spamming the Heavy punch (X?) button you might counter it. If the Opponent grabs (O) you and you are spamming the grab button (O) you might counter it. there is a perfect timing option, theres no prompt....ive never hit it so i just spam.

push Y and if its too hard, put the difficulty down OR I prefer this, play with the sliders to make it slower in gameplay options. I make it super fast so there's an element of unpredictability to the end of matches in universe mode, makes universe mode more interesting, if i don't know who's going to exactly win some of the time. Also make sure you play the tutorial.

Sometimes Y = A or X or B but not always and for move prediction, you can bet always X until AI changes it up a bit with A and B moves - timing is key.

Y will normally reverse a grapple. Most other moves can be reversed with an X. Rarely, A or B will reverse, but not nearly as often as the others.

What I do is Y to reverse a grapple (spamming won't work, and can actually backfire (early or late)). If it's not a grapple, rapid spam X. That will reverse 95% of moves.

Not on Legendary difficulty but Normal, yes, absolutely.
