Maybe this will help you, not sure by uninstalling them on my system it helped me but who knows:
https://www.windowslatest.com/2024/11/03/microsoft-confirms-issues-in-windows-10-kb5045594-kb5044273-mandatory-update
Although, I have not had system freezes after uninstalling these updates, the issue was present on MyFraction prior but few and far occurrences while simple game crashing does still persist, but only during the very first initial startup of the game.
I'll check that out. Just wanna mention that the issue was already before I did factory reset and I am running on Win11.
The updates that were found to be broken are for Win10 only, however and unfortunately.
Another issue I had was running the game using the Default AMD FSR1 setting, which caused my game to freeze at the main startup screen or settings screen - turning it to Native resolution solved that issue and also turning off V-sync - AMD FSR upscaling was a major issue for me tho at first - you could manually change upscaling to Bilinear in the config.ini and see if that is what is at fault - Bilinear is Native Res.
I'm sure I used DLSS, because I whenever I see FSR, I try to avoid it. :D
yeah I do use that OS. So I guess we can only wait for another update then?
Word of the wise, don't jump ship to a new OS before 5 years, this happened with Win10 and Win7 as well (Win11 is only 3 years old so expect faults and flaws - don't just update the new OS when new updates appear or this type of thing happens - 24H2 is an OPTIONAL update for now before it is a FORCED update Oct. 2025 - which is Win10 EOL).
Alright, thank you dude. Appreciate your help
Like many other players since around the October-November time, many people have had a problem with trying to launch WWE 2K24, wether it be with not launching at all or the main issue that occurred with me. Freezing the entire PC to the point where I have to constantly shut down the pc through the power button. I tried getting support for it from Steam, 2K and Microsoft but the problem persisted and everyone seemed to have run out of ideas.
After looking through emails, and issues effecting other games. I think I figured out the problem but it has an unfortunate solution.
It seems that the issue is a combination of the 1.25 update releasing and the Windows 11 24H2 update not being compatible most of the boots. The main issue happens through a “RADAR_PRE_LEAK” error found in a user generated “dxdiag” log file through direct X troubleshooting, essentially what it is is that windows memory leak detector software called RADAR is detecting that one of your programs could be using your computers resources in way that could lead to trouble for your computer. But if you were persistent in trying to launch the game like I have, you realize that there times where the game does launch perfectly fine and has no issues in that whole session. My theory is that the windows 11 update did something to create false flags for memory leaks. This problem is not only effecting 2K24, I’ve seen Microsoft threads and steam discussions of the same memory leak issue effecting Battlefield 2042 and the Assassins creed RPG style games “Valhalla, odyssey, origins” while it seems that these games got patches for this leak problem and work now (can’t confirm cause I don’t own them) I doubt 2K is focusing resources on a update, especially when it’s 2K25 season rn.
After trying all the windows 11 fixes I found a solution that has led to me have 0 problems launching the game now. Unfortunately it is having to install windows 10 again as the game isn’t fully compatible with windows 11 24H2 until either windows or 2K update their programs.
Here’s a step by step on how to downgrade from windows 11 to windows 10:
1- go to your browser and search for “ windows 10 media creation tool” and click on the first link you see, it’s this link also if you can’t find the right one:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-installation-media-for-windows-99a58364-8c02-206f-aa6f-40c3b507420d
2-select the windows 10 option and follow the instructions to download the media creation tool
3-(VERY IMPORTANT) before launching the media tool make sure to backup EVERYTHING YOU WANT FROM YOUR C: DRIVE, the media creation took will format almost the entirety of your boot drive so make sure to back up any documents, videos, pictures, mods etc that you want and are very important for you, if you have an external drive compress those files and folders into a zip file and move them to the external drive, or if you have a subscription to a cloud drive with a lot of space and transfer speeds move the files there, when you boot into windows 10 you can extract the files and put them in their original locations. Also if needed, extract your boomarks and passwords from your browser if it doesn’t have a sync feature, it’s different depending on each browser.
4-Start the tool and let it do its thing, it’ll install windows 10 in the background so you can still use your computer for a bit but it will restart the pc once it’s done and format the c drive.
5-Once windows 10 is installed, reinstall all the programs and launchers that were lost in the format, get your backups from your external drive or cloud drive and extract everything into its place.
6-Reinstall 2K24 and you should notice that the game should launch perfectly fine now.
That’s all the steps that I’ve personally taken to solve this issue, it’s a massive hassle but I honestly don’t see any fixes happening from 2K in the foreseeable future, so till windows 11 gets a new update this is your best shot.
Win11 also has a plethora of BIOS updates (mostly a bunch of security updates) and Chipset Driver updates as well - Win11 is a security resource hog and has some issues.
