Auto rivalries are off but still happening

I'm playing Universe/Superstar mode as a wrestler. I've turned auto rivalries off in the options, and canceled all the rivalries. Every week I still see new rivalries being generated. How can I make sure no auto rivalries are generated. Is there a work around?

There are 2 different parts to rivalries.

Rivalry actions are basically your cutscenes. These create enemies, but not rivalries. These will happen even with rivalries off.
Then there are rivalry matches. These can only happen if there is a rivalry between wrestlers. These will NOT happen if rivalries are turned off, unless you start a rivalry yourself.

You will still get rivalry actions but not rivalries.

I understand the difference between the rivalries and the rivalry action/cut scenes. I have auto-rivalries turned off. I also deleted all active rivalries. Every week, every single match on my card is a rivalry match still. I run 3 matches per event. It must be a glitch with the game. I've turned rivalries off because I was told that custom matches on the match table can't happen in rivalries, and that all rivalry matches default back to usual in game default matches. Since I'm attempting to run classic Ring of Honor, every match on my table is a custom match type and not a WWE match type. I've yet to see a single one of my custom matches on an event after 3 months of weekly events. Every match has been from the default match table the game gives you.

Also when I switched my events to be 5 matches long as an experiment... I'd end up with all 5 matches being rivalry matches. Again meaning my custom match table has no chance at working... and I have to play the week, and hope for the best the following week.

Multiple times now I've tried work-arounds. I honestly just want my Universe mode to be pretty basic. 3 matches a week, with no rivalries, where my custom match table is in use. I've even given up on championship matches because I heard they can also cause custom match tables to not work.

I look forward to the day I start an event and see 'ROH Singles Match' as the listed match type. Even seeing it once would be nice. I have it set to 100%. I also have ROH Tag Team Match set to 70%. I also made an ROH Pure Rules match set to 40%. I've seen none of them. The game has completely ignored my custom match table.

So my 2 main questions. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?... & do rivalry actions that take place outside of rivalries also make the custom match table not work?

To be honest with you, I just want a few divisions of wrestlers chasing different belts, where the winners move up and the losers move down in the rankings. I do not need any rivalry actions/cut scenes (nor do I want them if they break the basics of what I'm trying to do in Universe mode).

The game will make 4 rivalry actions each show if rivalries are off. I run 8 or 9 matches per show, 4 will be rivalry action/rivalries the other 5 matches will run from my custom match table. Not ideal but that's how I make it work for me. I have auto rivalries off, but do set up my own rivalries between wrestlers if they get +4 star matches.

I'm my mind, my universe mode is classic ROH and we only have 42 minutes of TV time per week, so 3 matches made sense to me. If I have to run 8 or 9 matches a week, the overall quality of my league is going down, the wrestlers will be over-exposed, and the fans will be exhausted. Anyway, thanks for the info. If that's what I have to do, I think I'm just going to give up now on the dream of running a serious ROH universe mode. I'd say I hope 2K patches this, but I doubt they even see it as an issue. I'd also say I hope 2K next year adds the ability to turn off both rivalries and rivalry action/cut scenes. I'm not expecting it though. After downloading MANY ROH wrestlers, the belts, the arenas, creating multiple custom match types, setting up the match table, setting up the divisions, putting together tag teams and so on... I was hoping things would work out. Thanks 2K. I'll go back to just playing one off exhibition matches from the main menu, and leave the broken Universe mode alone. Time wasted, lesson learned.
