Game not launching on steam

As i say in the title, i click on the "play" green button, and after 3/5 seconds the "play" box returns green.
Any suggestion? I've alteady tried common things like update my pc e my GPU drivers, i have no app in conflict with steam so i just don't understand what's wrong with this game

SFC scan would be my next suggestion and then I wrote this initially:

Check to see if the application is allowed through the firewall because one time I had a game do this and somehow the usual pop-up to allow the game to bypass the wall never appeared which disallowed the game to run so make sure of that and then there was one other time where two game instances were running simultaneously in Task Manager.

Sfc scan and clean, and i let the game bypass the firewall by adding it to the list in settings

Go to Task Manager < Services and then restart the service "WinDefend".

What are your specs?

I had to do this a few times but how about reinstalling Steam without uninstalling Steam - the only drawback is that it resets your Steam Client Settings but does not uninstall any games https://store.steampowered.com/about/

How do i do that? I mean, the steam reset

Just go to the URL and download the Steam Client Setup Manager and run it over the current Steam Client version when you are not running the Steam application - I think something is wrong because mine just froze and is acting up too now but it's not doing what you are experiencing - I would think the Play button not playing the game is more to do with the Steam Client itself rather than the specific game.

Since i can play other games, i think the problem is in the game launcher

BUT before I leave, there is one solution that you can try and that would be to delete this file in Steam\steamapps\common\WWE 2K24 → steam_api64.dll and then run the "Verify Integrity of the Game" in the Game Properties < Installed Files tab on the Steam Client.

And I see the game had an update today according to SteamDB → Last Record(ed) Update 29 October 2024 – 16:52:51 UTC (4 hours ago)

I have the same problem, all other games work, only WWE 2K24 stopped working.

Have you tried deleting the WWE 2K24 folder in c:\Appdata\Local? I've just had the same problem where it quit to desktop after reaching the license screen and deleting that wwe 2k24 folder got me back into the game.
