Game crashes after most recent patch
Hey, everyone. I got this game on friday last week and been playing almost everyday since. Today, after a new patch, the game just won't start. I click on Play game, nothing. Sometimes it does open, but doesn't get past the first screen, then crash and back to desktop.

I already verified the game files and nothing.

Any clues or workarounds?

I had this problem, and now it also appeared, it was fixed only after updating the game.

I can start the game, but every time I go to create a female superstar, the game just crashes whenever attempting to load the personas. Apparently the devs have figured out how we got around the crashes the last time and have patched that workaround out.

Well, at least your game turns on, but for me, a white screen just appears for 1-3 seconds, and the game turns off.

Mine doesn't even launch!

I don't see anything. The Steam launch button changes from PLAY to STOP, then nothing happens and it goes back to PLAY.

It's insane! This game is gonna be almost a year old and they haven't figured out stability yet?

I got it on sale but I feel ripped off already. :/

Go to Documents < WWE2K24 and open the confi.ini, the line that says "Upscaling" you would want this to say the following: Bilinear → upscaling = Bilinear and then make sure that vsync is off (for monitors with resolutions OVER 75Hz and vsync on for monitors with resolutions 75Hz and below), the upscaling will force native resolution instead of the default AMD FSR1 (which is terrible for some games/systems), after changing those , save the file and attempt to restart the game and see if that helps - if it still won't run, go back into the config.ini and at the very bottom, turn on Windowed Mode → windowed = yes (I am almost certain this should work if all else fails but if it only runs in Windowed Mode, you have a problem with your System - perhaps a driver clashing, one time I had TWO Nvidia drivers installed (how idk) that caused issues so don't rule that out as well) - my money is on AMD FSR1 upscaling causing issues tho.

You don't have to guess what the problem is, it's a problem with the new patch, I talked to 2K technical support, they said to wait for a new patch. Since the error repeated itself, as it did with the previous version of the patch.
Idky I even waste a lot my time trying to help anyone on this specific game forum because no one ever listens. :csdmad:

Thank you for your help, but the main error here is not in people's devices, but the problem is in the patch itself.

Hey, it's ok. Thank you very much for the instructions you provided.

I tried it, but didn't work. I thought windowed could solve the issue, but it didn't.

I'm gonna fiddle around with the .ini file to see what else could be, but thank you very much for this.

Did they give you any notion of when that might happen?
The same thing happens to me too. After a week or so the game just constantly crashes and freezes. The only thing that fixes it is verifying the integrity of the game files and then restarting my computer. Then I don't get a crash or a freeze for about a week or two. I think this is an Anti-piracy measure. Since people who pirated the game wouldn't be able to rebuild the files because they don't have Steam. Their games would keep freezing and crashing constantly. I had this exact same problem in WWE 2K23, verifying the integrity of the game files and then immediately restarting the computer fixed it for me.

I think they will fix it within a week, but they didn't give me an exact dates.

Try this, change the reflections setting in the graphics settings to Medium and then save the game and exit. Then open WWE 2K24 back up and change the reflections setting to High and then save the game and exit. Then restart your computer. This clears the reflections cache in the game and could fix crashes and freezes. I did this for WWE 2K23 and it would fix my crashing and freezing problems. I hope this works for you too.

Well, I can't even get to the part in which I can change the game settings. The furthest I've been to is the second screen after the loading screen with the logos.

I changed the settings you mentioned through the config.ini file, but it didn't work.

I think the issue is when the game loads that it may be requesting too much resources on the system: I've been trying to launch the game while listening to music and it messes with the audio right before crashing.
