Losing control of character/AI freezing

I can get past the game crashing, but the AI freezing, or losing control of my character beyond doing a light attack is making me really upset. What's the point of giving people early access if the game is going to be literally unplayable till you push an update near the regular release date. This is so disappointing. I hope the devs make it up to the early access people dealing with this.

Wrong....that's exactly what it is. The menus work because that's not doing anything but navigating so if it switches back and forth between input devices it won't effect the menu. Telltale sign is when it happens IN GAME. It's 100% user issue and the people having the issue in these forums all have the same issue. Likely from third party software running or driver conflict. Zero issues at all on my rig and the majority of others. This issue ends up being brought up every time a WWE game has come out in the last 3 years. I know because I've owned them all.

I finally found a fix!
Just open the game and go do another thing for like 5 or 10 minutes, then come back to the game and start to play. For some reason, when you let the game cooking at the screen that say you to press any button, the bug is fixed. I don't know why this work, but for me this really work

Yep, it's disabled in the general settings as well, for all controllers. I am using an Xbox controller, it's not an official Microsoft one? It is a third party, and maybe that's the issue, only other thing I could guess.

You want it ENABLED, the issue occurs when you have it disabled (i leave it on but turn it off game by game)

I was having this issue a lot. I reinstalled the game due to a different reason. Haven't had the controls stop working since.

Aha, well, even still. It doesn't seem to work when enabled either. So unfortunately it's not a fix for everyone I suppose.

I have the same problem, I filed a ticket on the 2k site but clearly they are playing dead on the problem. Don’t worry, you’re not the only one!

I am legit getting the same problems! All the superstars just freeze (A.I included) and we can only do Light attacks until we wait for a certain amount of time...it's frustrating

I think i found a way to make it work (just for some people)
Delete the Sound and Crashpad folder, then the files from baked59-71 and the 2K exe file.
Then reverified the files and reinstalled them

This is also a problem even with AI vs AI. The AI will just freeze mid-match. Most of the time, the AI will fix itself, but I have had cases where I had to end the match and restart because it just wouldn't correct itself. I hope they correct this soon. AI vs AI matches are literally the only reason why I buy these games.

this bug has been happening since the early release of this game for PC. Thankfully this game doesn't crash now on PC but this bug still remains. I sent a ticket to 2K Support about this, hopefully this gets fixed very soon like they did with their recent patch update

This issue is still here. Partway through a match it still happens. None of the controls work except for light attack and reversal. Can't grapple, can't run off the ropes, can't exit the ring. I imagine part of this will be whether people send in a ticket to 2K Support to pass on their unique information of the issue as it doesn't seem to be happening to everyone. What controller they have, the Steam settings they're using, what's happening in the game when the issue happens, anything that might be triggering the issue in the game on their end.
