FPS LOCK TO 60 FPS
Hi, my screen run every other game at 120fps without a problem, however the game cap to max 60. Benchmark testing was A.

Is there any way to force to at least go at 120fps, maybe with change in the config.ini?

I tried to disable v-sync, force 120 via Nvidia Control Panel and Nvidia Profile Selector, and nothing

Thank to anyone who will help me

you can turn off the "timed game update" in the game's options file which u can find in documents/wwe2k24, but for now it's not a good idea. i played previous wwe games with the same methood, and u can limit ur fps for like 75 in afterburner or something, that way the game feels way more smoother and not like slowmo. only con is entrances and camera cut moves are basically super fast. For now turning off the camera cuts doesnt turne them off so when the camera cuts for moves or pins the game is super fast. if they fix the camera cut thing u can try disabling the timed game update
Just like previous years they will never support this workaround, so you will always have sped up animations and desync. That's the reason they removed the option all together from ring entrances in both 2k23 and 2k24.

I'm not that familiar with fps, so I need some education on this... wouldn't 120 make the game movements feel slow? humans see like 10 fps... I remember looking at star wars and how weird and slow it looked when Jar Jar was jumping on a Robot. Or has the technology changed and 120 fps looked a lot smoother and faster?

The higher the FPS the faster the game moves. 2D animation (cartoons/anime etc.) is animated at 24 fps. Most video games on consoles are 30 fps and 60 fps is max. First Person Shooter games (aka FPS ironically) on PC are usually ran at 120 fps if your rig can handle it. Most games on PC should run between 60 - 120 fps. IMO Wrestling games like this do not need 120 fps. Fighting games (this isn't one, it's a sports sim) require 60 fps because of the animations and frame data are tied to 60 fps. Hope this helps.
Yeah it helps and it makes sense. I always felt the same when it came to this game and a few others I've played.

oh really? humans see the world at 10 fps? i'd love to see you play games at 10 fps then

this is the LA Noire technology. they motion captured the face animations at 30 fps and here they did it at 60 so there will never be anything over that fps. at least in la noire you could uncap the rest of the game to 60 so only the faces were at 30

You can use AMD Fluid Motion Frames if you have an AMD card, or there is a program on Steam called "Lossless Scaling" which costs about £6 to double the Frame Rate using Frame Generation. I don't know if Nvidia has an equivalent to AMD FMF which can forced on pretty much any game.

You need to go to MyDocuments/WWE2k24 , open config.ini and turn off timed update.

Use AMD Adrenalin/Nvidia Control Panel or myself I personally use RTSS to limit WWE2k24 framerate to 60FPS.

For AMD Fluid Motion Frames, you just need to find WWE2K24 in your Adrenalin games list, click on it and turn on Fluid Motion Frames. If you go the Fluid Motion Frames route, you need to make sure you Turn V-Sync OFF inside WWE2k24's games options.

Use Control-Shift-o to bring up AMD Adrenalin Frame Counter to see the frames you are getting in game using Frame Generation.

To use Lossless Scaling for Frame Generation WWE needs to run in Windowed Mode in the games options, don't worry LS will convert it to Full Screen.

So start Lossless Scaling, Start WWE2k24. Click on the "Scale" button on Lossless Scaling, then click on the WWE2k24 window. That's it. Your 60fps should now be doubled to 120fps for menus, entrances and gameplay.

I personally use the "Lossless Scaling" method for Frame generation as I have found it so far to be better than AFMF in most games I have tried them on.

Caveats:

You NEED to be able to hit a consistent solid 60FPS at whatever resolution and settings you are using for Frame Gen to be any good, I'm using a 7900XTX so I have no issues in this regard.

Frame Gen adds Input Latency, but as WWE is more timing based than button mashing, I didn't find this an issue, it isn't really noticeable, definitely not compared to the added smoothness Frame Gen gives to gameplay in the ring.

You may notice some ghosting, especially on Entrances. In-Ring action is pretty much flawless.

If you have a 144/165hz+ monitor, you may need to go to display settings and change it to 120Hz for better results trying the above, although I genuinely don't know if you need to or not.

The above also works for WWE2k23 too.

Good Luck!

What are you on about? why mention star wars which was 24fps (like most films) anyway.
120fps always makes things look smoother.

Really not sure what you mean by "humans see 10fps" either. you think thats all they can see? or you mean Humans can only see a maximum difference of 10fps?

Cause both are wrong anyway.

whats the benefit of higher fps in a slow paced wrestling game? in this game you wont even notice a difference between 60 and 120 xD

There is none....people just want to say they get x amount of frames...if your on a 60-144 or higher monitor and running vrr there is no point about worrying about your fps as it will be smooth regardless, now days its more about being in a range that your monitor supports more than just running 200fps because you can.

I actually do this with a 60 fps limiter so the intros etc run to full 60 instead for the default 30, so dont get that jarring swap between 30 and 60 between cuts, and also doesnt get the benny hill animation speed :p (running with a 175hz monitor)

It's not a fighting game. Fighting games are a very specific genre and this game is not a fighting game. The WWE 2K games are sports sims albeit for combat sports. Smash Brothers is a party game. Final Fight and Streets of Rage are beat 'em ups. Street Fighter is a fighting game. Mortal Kombat is a fighting game. Wrestling games are not fighting games. This game runs at 60 fps due to engine limitations. Counters and animation in this game might be tied to a 60fps clock but it is not a fighting game.
aspateer 7 MAR 2024 a las 8:42 p. m.
it isnt an engine limitation... it is DESIGNED to run at 60fps. so like any other fighting game, everything in it... physics and what not, are meant to be run at 60fps.....

Okay you’re being pedantic though. It’s a forced FOS cap. Technically is a engine limitation if forcing above 60 breaks the animations and game speed

This breaks the game, even limiting it to anything above 60FPS, including 75FOS, 100FPS, and 120FPS as I’ve tried all of them and it’s unplayable at those speeds.
aspateer 7 MAR 2024 a las 10:22 p. m.
this is why, i say its a fighting game.... ALL fighting games are designed this way. not many other genres of games are made to be played at 60FPS. MAYBE one day they will raise it to 120fps..... in the mean time though.... 60FPS is apparently the sweet spot for proper physics and what not......
