It is not next gen, as in the PS6. If you mean CURRENT GEN since the current consoles have been out for OVER THREE YEARS NOW then it should be the same.

Why on earth do some people still use the term "next gen" to describe current systems and games? It's maddening. The best is they will use the terms last gen and next gen. What the hell happened to current gen? How can one have a past and future but no present?

The term is still thrown around because for NBA, the PC Community got shafted for not porting "next Gen". And it looks like frames are capped at 30 fps for intros and 60 for match play for wwe2k24. Changing the .ini file does nothing but speed up intro and gameplay
Polyh3dron Mar 5, 2024 @ 10:01pm
what does that even mean?

but yeah this bothers me that the framerate caps are still here. Nothing in this game can't be rendered at 60 FPS by my RTX 4090 at 4K, yet lots of it gets capped to 30.

This is pretty disappointing coming from the same Visual Concepts that wowed me with the original NBA 2K and NFL 2K games on Dreamcast.

do the PS5 and xbox series X have 120fps? no... then why would the pc version be considered old gen because of this? makes no sense.

When it comes to gameplay, functions and the like, there is only one version of the game. It has been that way since the series went to 9th Gen.

Now, where you might find differing opinion is that the graphical capabilities change depending on the hardware. 9th gen consoles look better than 8th Gen. Likewise, if you have a more powerful PC, it'll improve the graphics to match. 60 FPS is the max and there may be 30 FPS cutscenes by design, but unless people have been manipulating things (which is not a topic allowed here) it should be the same for all.

I would ask any of you why you feel you need 120 fps in a wrestling game, even if it is possible. 30 fps makes for cinematic motion in the right places. 60 fps for everything else is reasonable (in THIS game).

I could understand if this was an FPS game needing twitch response but it's not.

Just because the graphics card is a bit better doesn't tell the whole story.

At this point I'm wondering what answer you're looking for or if your original question now needs rephrasing.

His question is perfectly legitimate. Previous 2K games and other sports games have had older generation versions released on PC, he is simply asking is this the case. Your explanation is what convoluted it. But as you say there is only one version so if the game is optimised well and your hardware can handle it, it should look the same (should look better tbh) as it’s counterparts on PS5 and XBX.
Just curious, did you decide to buy the game by release on Friday? I saw you had the other wrestling games.

Because many sports games do not give PC players the same experience as PS5/Xbox Series X/S. Just this year Madden finally gave PC "next-gen".

Maybe I was misleading, my English is not the best.
But yes, if Zeokage says there's only one version then I'm looking forward to it. And thanks for your answer as well.
