Last-Gen version on PC
I haven't seen them say yet but I'm assuming were getting the last gen version again on pc because of the 59.99 price vs 69.99 on next gen console. NBA 2k24 was also last gen on pc.

2K22 and 23 weren't last gen on pc. If you crank it to max settings, it's pretty much on the Ps5/Xbox Series X Level graphics wise, only thing we don't get is entrances in 60 FPS.

2K23 was current gen

There was one version for both 8th and 9th Gen, but the better machines could utilise more graphical features. Except for that, everything was identical between the games. No modes or DLC exclusive to one over the other.

Unlike nba 2k, wwe 2k is the same game on both last gen and next gen, so even if this is the last gen version you wont be able to tell. For 23, it had graphic quality that is as good as next gen and had all modes and features. I don't know of any exclusions for last gen, but if there ends up being one for 24 then thats when its time to complain

1. The $10 Console tax doesnt equate to a higher build of the game, it merely includes a generation upgrade pass for people buying last gen consoles to use on current gen consoles when they buy one to save them buying it twice.

2. PC does indeed have full 60fps intros but the code was glitched last few years... so you can have 60fps intros BUT the announcer part of intros always runs at the max frame rate of your system at like silly speeds, then falls back to 60fps lock for the walking in and fighting, and post match exit bits all at solid 60fps. The developers did add a optional setting to lock it and that does indeed lock to 30fps intros.... but it is not the same as being unavailable.... its just a lazy workaround for the announcer glitch and technically could argue that PC can run the announcer section at 200fps in 4k etc something consoles cant... for bragging rights LMAO, making THEM last gen. This is achieved very easily from launch day by setting your video driver profile up for the game to be 60fps locked and leave the ingame option to lock frames OFF.

3. With a few tweaks on PC you can play in 8k native 60fps with fairly moderate specs.... like a 2080 gpu (which is higher end GPU than a PS5) so enough with last gen misinformation please... the game is tapping 60fps at like 16% GPU usage, and like 5% CPU on my system... so 8k 100+ is well within achievable if the game code worked correctly.

4. So to end..... there is no 'PC' being last gen nonsense at all, this is at best a cope and at worst misinformation

2k23 was current gen, what are you smoking?

Why are some people still referring to the current line of consoles as "next gen" when they've been out for over 3 years? Furthermore, how does one use the terms last gen and then say next gen rather than current gen?

People are weird. "Next gen" would be the PS6.

As for the topic at hand, the games look good on PC. What are you expecting for current gen that it doesn't already have?

Also factor that PS5 is basically using a 2070 Super GPU in there (AMD equiv) and thats now 2 generations OLDER than current PC ones.

I believe the only difference between the "next gen" and the "last gen" versions were 60fps entrances. So technically PC had the last gen version the last couple of years, but that was the only difference afaik.

Except you CAN enable 60fps intros on PC..... so your are wrong.

Well if we're talking about PC, then I would expect it to have waaaaay better graphics. Way better physics. Way better damage models. Way better and more options for creations, and waaaaaaaaay better modding tools and accessibility. Cmon, I've been modding since the 80's, the things I could do is insane if they had tools like a proper PC game.

If we're talking about current gen consoles and current day game makers, then I really don't expect much. A few new match types. A bunch of the same old. Same old complaints. Same(new) bugs that'll pop up. Even same stuff from the wrestlers themselves that are unhappy about the way they look in the game *yawn*. I like the game though, if it works and doesn't mess up my saves and games then I'm happy.

Not going to happen with sports or sports entertainment games, which always sell better on consoles.

Now the same bs has spilled over from the NBA trash to WWE product, I think I'm going to pass again this year.
