I'd like to see a slimmed-down version of that as well.
I'll start with intergender matches. It really does nobody any favors that they aren't in the game, because the online community is split simply because they aren't a thing. Plenty of people only use male superstars and vice versa, and as such there's a split in the online community, which will always exist until they finally allow intergender matches once more.
Next is fighting/walking/running stances. These are minor things, but back in HCTP this was a really cool. It's simple, but it adds a lot and can give your CAW a lot more character for example. It was especially fun when you could even customize it and it turns into something really weird and hilarious.
Story Designer. Anyone else miss this feature? I really do, because it was awesome when you could make your own story and all that. I suppose universe mode in a sense is this mode, but with a lot less freedom... but I really wish this mode came back. It's honestly my #1 most wanted feature to return.
More options for the "generic" titantron videos and theme songs. They still reuse the same old ones, right? It wouldn't kill them to add some more options, and maybe allow us to somewhat customize them... if possible. This one isn't too important for me, but it would be a nice little bonus.
Weapon submissions and grapples. We have just the same things every time, it would be cool if we could have weapon based submissions. We can already throw them, so why not have stuff like kendo stick, steel chair and ladder submissions too?
Royal Rumble elimination escapes. You know, stuff like Kofi Kingston's Royal Rumble magic and such. Obviously only a single time use per match, and likely gonna require a finisher or two ready to even use it.
My bad. You can bring roster data into universe data in 2K23. There's an import button when selecting a new universe slot to create that imports roster data or another universe slot data.
One feature I'd like to see though is resting an opponent against the turnbuckle at ringside. You could keep hitting them with punches, kicks or weapons and when the defender reverses, you attack the turnbuckle instead. If you attack barehanded you do self-damage t your arms or feet instead.
At least, that's what they used to do, with the most notable one being WWE 2k14 if I remember right.
Old-gen consoles had the wacky, awesome, over-the-top CAW creator while the Current-Gen consoles had the new "realistic" UFC-feeling creator that we were stuck with for years... (it's gotten significantly better, but it's still not as freeing as the original)
Agreed, I understand that they have been "trying but failing" to make the CAWS look like they fit in with actual Wrestlers in the game. but it's a shame that creating isn't as awesome as it used to be. Such as the morphing and giving each and every wrestler a stance and walk style.
Having the team only working on 1 all-encompassing build of the game (aside from the ports between consoles) would (presumably) result in a more focused development.
After looking into it, it looks like the "last gen" consoles are going to be running a "non-optimized version"- which I would take to mean lower resolution / lower frame rate- so I'd imagine that the overall features of the game aren't affected by being ported to old hardware.
I think that the "100 Created Wrestler" limit is likely a game-engine limitation moreso than a hardware limitation.
We'll see what happens though, maybe they've optimized this year's release to the point where it's possible to raise that limit. :)
