Issue launching the game.
I played on the 11th without issue. On the 12th I had trouble launching the game. Restarted my pc, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and eventually it worked. Today nothing seems to work. The only thing that happens is that the "Play" button on steam changes to "Cancel" (as if it's running). I then get a short popup with a loading bar and "The Executive - Unity" at the top. Then the button goes back to "Play" and nothing has happened. Anyone else having this issue?

Hi!
I think we published patch 1.0.2 less than an hour after your post.
Do you still have the same issue after updating the game?
No, I'm still having an issue. I'm not getting an actual error message, so I did some digging and luckily Event Viewer has captured this:
Faulting application name: The Executive.exe, version: 6000.0.23.18276, time stamp: 0x6709e074 Faulting module name: UnityPlayer.dll, version: 6000.0.23.18276, time stamp: 0x6709e373 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00000000000fc94a Faulting process id: 0x46a8 Faulting application start time: 0x01db7f41e726c61b Faulting application path: D:\Steam\steamapps\common\The Executive\The Executive.exe Faulting module path: D:\Steam\steamapps\common\The Executive\UnityPlayer.dll Report Id: 1f49dcc1-73b4-4b2f-8ab6-484daae805e6 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID:

Other Unity games work, and obviously I managed to play this game for at least a bit. It never crashed while playing the game, only now that I want to play it again does it refuse to let me in. The .dll is there and clearly uninstalling and reinstalling (even onto different drives) doesn't seem to work. Not sure what else to try at this point.
I have the exact same issue. The game immediately crashes on Steam with no information, but if I try to run The Executive.exe by itself, I get this:

The application was unable to start correctly (0xc00000005). Click OK to close the application.
Un-installed the game, left it un-installed for a day. Reinstalled today and it opened. Not sure if it's a fluke.

Works perfect post update, thanks for a fun game!
This is still not fixed for me. Guess I have to uninstall and then reinstall on a different day in order for it to work.

Just right click on the game in steam, go to properties, pick installed files and validate the files.

Yeah...I've done that dozens of times now.

Hello again!
Sorry that you're still having issues with this.

If you don't mind, could you send us your log file?
Press Windows + R, then paste this and click okay in the window : "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\AnikiGames\The Executive"
There should be two .log files in there, that you can send us over at "support [at] goblinzstudio [dot] com".
That should help us pinpoint your issue.
