We desperately need a Workshop

First of all, I'm enjoying the game a lot. Played the demo for a couple hours and was really glad to see it released today.

@Devs: As an example, Game Dev Tycoon enjoyed lots of great mods that vastly enhanced the replayability. Could we please get one for this game too?

+1. the game doesn't seem to have any prewritten movies past 2021 and while it has a lot, there are a bunch missing (herner werzog has no movies before 2010, etc). looks fairly easy to add more but it would be nice to be able to distribute. I can just work on something and put the file link in here at some point

It would definately enhance the gameplay cause right now it is WAY too repetitive and gets boring fast to have to throw out one movie after another, wait until its done and rinse and repeat until you got enough points for research unlock more things, move to a new office and so on.

agreed im not a modder but just browsing through the files it looks very mod friendly I was able to copy paste company logo and when I started a new game it showed up twice

I'd love that. It would be amazing to be able to play with the real names of distributors (already managed to mod that), and the actors/directors (much harder given the number of entries - above 10,000).

I will most likely release a mod that does this in the future, I'm planning to convert everything to real names and also add additional actors, genres & more - but it will take some time!

nice @alagesia, I guess we are working on the same thing perhaps? I figured people wanted to play with real names at some point. I'm adding additional actors to fill out the romys/gaspars list for 2022 and later movies. it takes a loooot of work to add all the stats for each year for actors though 😂 maybe we should chat

Happy to share with you the US distributors list so you can share it on your page - until a workshop is available here. I'm at line 600 through the list of actors/directors but I admit that around 1% of them are just impossible to guess.

From my limited play time, I really don't like the in-game naming system, a mod for randomly generated names suitable to the decade you're playing in would be more immersive.
And also a random name generator for movies based on theme, genre, etc.
