Our talent database is actually quite large and was built using real box office data from movies released since the 60ies and the way to 2024.
We are using spoofed name but the game will be modded easily. We have updated the Demo 2 weeks ago and have exposed all the json files containing talents and competing movies. We have also revamped the talents stats system to make it more interesting.
The talent availibity system is not there yet for the demo.
That being said, we don't aspire to provide the depth as Hollywood Mogul in term of movie creation options, we want to focus also on the other aspect of makign a movie production successful such as distributions, IP management, Home Entertainment...
My brother, who is making this game with me, has worked in finance, licensing and distribution for several movie studios and production companyies in Hollywood so we understand the ins and out of this industry and we ve chosen to simplify the different aspects to the right amount so that is still appealing to a "wide" audience.
Anyway, I see that you are both movie buffs so feel free to join our discord, to discuss more about all of this. I would be great if we could find mechanics that could be appealing to simulation enthusiasts :D

At the end of the day, we are still making a tycoon focused on management. But we could have gone more toward the route of very complex simulation or something a bit more simple and we chose the latter.
- more clarity around those phases in movie production, maybe just one screen showing budget, % allocation to phase, each phase cost. At least explain how the movie budget is being spent better
- i miss the scriptwriting phase and writers talent pool. There's another game i love 'writers' rush'... you guys should get together lol
- hollywood gossip, events, personal tragedies, triumphs - it is a management game but it will be way more immersive if you can factor in all the crazy hollywood stuff that (somewhat randomly) happens to actors and everyone else.
Love the game though, looks great.
I will check Writers'rush :D
Hollywood dramas and events will be part of the full release for sure!
