quest 1 and quest 2

I play on quest 2 and my buddy has a quest 1 but we arent able to play together because the update info is not the same, hes on update 0.6.7 im on update 0.7.0, im just confused on why that is? the quest store says its cross play with all, but other websites just says Q2,Q3,and pc vr can play with eachother, is there going to be cross play with Q1 at all in the near future?

Quest 1 support was discontinued after 0.6.7. This was a Meta directive not a TAVR one.

Quest 1 has been completely abandoned by Meta as of last August.
