Quests feel a bit out of order
After having already crafted a large number of platforms I suddenly get a QUEST to craft them. It felt a little delayed...

Currently my only quest is to craft the Launch Pad. The quest says it's available in the Intermediate Fabricator but it's not.

The original TerraTech was very straightforward. Go around, explore the world, gain more blocks, build better techs, roam further. In TerraTech Worlds I keep bumping into dead ends. I have a Grinder I can't use because I can't make a tractor beam. I have a quest I can't do because the building isn't available for construction...

I can't roam very far because the other biomes are lethal to my tech and I have no defense against them, and they are guarded by techs with weapons that vastly outclass mine...

This is very much a case of where the hell do I go and what the hell do I do, despite the high degree of handholding the quests are supposed to deliver. It's just that they hold your hand and lead you into blind alleys and then leave you there.

This really needs some work...

considering the latest updates probably solved your issues this might be pointless but,

you should go from forest, to swamp, to polar, to desert. each new biome is meant to be a challenge you have to work out how to play it, in the swamp you have to find your way around the maze while using alkaline pools to prevent corrosive death, if you do that youll be able to get your tractor beam from that vendor. as for being outclassed by enemy techs that shouldnt really happen unless your just using the first gun in the game, if you continue to struggle you should probably tweak your game world settings to make the experience a little easier and more for your play style.

Finally none of what you mentioned is a bug, just a symptom of early access design, it is all being constantly updated and improved, even in terratech there was a time where there was only a tutorial quest and you had to work everything out for yourself, but look at where it is now. off course it needs work, its pre-alpha, thats literally the whole point, if you dont like that and you want a complete game ready to go, stay out of early access
Isn't part of the point of early access so that you can find bugs and have them fixed BEFORE the game gets a full release so that you don't get a disastrous release?
Not that games ever seem to go out of early access these days...
