Mixed reviews
Stating the obvious, mixed review status is not a good thing for a game. If a game isn't positive, I automatically don't buy. Looked through the negative reviews. Some ideas on what may help.

1) Better communication on the store page on the difference from TT1. "TTW is a more challenging experience when compared to the original TerraTech. While TerraTech allowed for expansive tech builds, TTW requires more thought to build something dangerous to your enemies."

2) Better communication on the store page on whats currently in the game versus what is planned.

3) Change carbon generators to only use fuel as power is needed. Base machines only use power when actually doing something. Yes, I know the situation was improved. Flipping switches repeatedly to turn things on and off. Not fun or rewarding.

Number 1 is the HUGE one. Way too many people jump into this game and get pissed because its not their childish sandbox that TT1 was.

ALTHOUGH, with the direction of dumbing the game down the devs have been doing (enemy AI, tech limit adjustments, etc) it is becoming more and more like TT1. So I guess those people will be happy. eh.

2. The roadmap is fairly high up on the store page. I guess maybe they could put it at the absolute top but if people cannot scroll for 2 seconds to see it, they are the same type of people that wont read it anyway if it is first.

3. absolutely. People have been outright begging for this change since the demo. Devs seem to be ignoring it tho.

A power system with a switch that switches off and does not turn on automatically, a resource transport system. In the first part, it was extremely fun to invent production and storage systems. I hope the functionality of the conveyors will also be expanded here, mobile factories will be added and so on and so forth... In general, as I already said, there is a huge amount of work ahead, designed to at least partially bring the game to the level of TT1. I’m not sure that the masterpiece can be repeated, but even with some minor losses the game can turn out to be entertaining...

Google translated.

Yes, lots of stuff on the roadmap. However, I assume they need sales. Would think most people look at the reviews status before making a purchase decision.

In all honesty the store page does an excellent job of showing you what you're getting.
It shows tiny techs driving around shooting stuff, mining, and going back to base.
That IS the game. the whole game.
It also as far as i can tell, shows the came as it is now. with the exception of the soon-to-be-added desert/lava biome.
Oh, and Kris said that they intend to fix the carbon generators so they only run when power is needed, and for base blocks to stop drawing power when they are not operating.
But that requires code writing. whereas changing the burn rate only takes changing a couple numbers. So they did that, while the code is being written.

Ah, that's good news on the carbon generators. Maybe that will get the review status to positive.

It's early access. if you don't want the jank, wait for release.

It's always a risk, that you have to weigh up, some hit and you return, later in the games life, some you forget about.

The real issue to the gaming industry is publishers releasing games in a similar state, as full releases, and developing later, your Cities Skylines 2, your Starfields et al. Games that needed at least another year to cook.

I like what I see with this game, and will gladly return in 6 months to see how they are getting on with it. Right now, I have an unstoppable killing machine and no enemy that can get anywhere near it. I would like more challenge.
