Is TerraTech worth playing?
Hey guys, I just got this game recently and am really liking it. I was wondering if the original TerraTech is worth playing (since it is a fully released / complete game), or is Worlds an upgrade in every way? Like, would trying the original feel like a downgrade? It's almost the same price as Worlds, actually more with DLC and stuff. This game is so fun it got me curious. Thanks!

I think no :( this game isnt teratech. To many limites,to many very stupid things, cant build what u need, terrible combat system,95% weapons useless, ammo crafting, mud ultra weaken tech die per one hit ,frozen destroy tech in 5 sec ,heat same, heat modules not work right, harvest rare resource is nightmare :(

If you are enjoying Terratech Worlds the original is very much worth grabbing. Worlds is kind of a shell (hopefully) for what it will be in the future given that it is early access. The original Terratech as you mentioned is already a fully fleshed out game with tons of blocks to play around with. Right now the original is hands down the better game.

For now when TT:W is in beta, i can say that original is even better! (cuz TT:W is still betta in the most)

Hmm, I glanced at OG Terratech and wasn't too impressed, but based on opinions in here I think I'll look at it in more depth.

Awesome, I'm going to check it out. I came into this game with no expectations, found I like just chilling destroying other cars and building up from stuff they drop. I hope they deliver on the roadmap that I saw. Anyway, thanks gonna also try the first TT.

I think you're saying you like original TT better than this one, unless I'm reading you wrong. So I'll take it as a recommendation to try the first TeraTech :D

First one is more.. open to building. And LOT easier as doesnt have stupid locked view. You need to look up the control but you can change focus of view by clicking on blocks when building. And it does not have all the limits.
its fun if you like killing things scrapping and building a base, building creative techs, if you need a story or guidance no but other than that its really cool. :steamsalty::2016watermelon:
Yes. OTT is functionally an uglier version of this with no inventory management hassles, no manual aim, and a much less annoying build system.
Thing is, THAT game was never finsihed.
IT's like THIS game. Drive around shooting things until you get bored.
If you like that, good.
IF you wanted something more, well they've given up on that.

Probably. Because adding new blocks and polishing stuff is relatively straightforward.

Adding whole news chunks of game? A story? goals? that's hard.
Check the roadmap.

Blocks, terrain etc.
But not much in the way of GAME changes,

not sure you need a story in a game like this, some world bosses would be cool defense stuff all out server PVP so many things, :steamsalty::2016watermelon:

I described a point.

Story and characters were only a part of it.

Ask anyone who played the original.
the first part of the game: fighting to build up your collection of parts, getting established, expanding your licences, that part is good.
IT's very organic.
You go on adventures and fight bigger and tougher tech, both to progress the licenses, and to get their loot...

But then what? Ok, so you've gotten the good wheels, the good guns.
you've experimented with the hover bug, made a floating fortress... now what?
What are you going to do with it?
Finish the game?
You can't.
