I found high area in swamp zone where it gives 16-17 energy. So 5 of wind gens can run all what I need.
in other places wind gen ussually gives around 6 energy
RN at my base, which is on a cliff by a swamp is using 4 wind turbines generating 18 power each. I just set up a solar panel, and it's power slowly ramps up and was sitting at around 22 power. Not sure if location affects that.
EDIT: the solar panel only runs at peak efficiency for about 25-35% of the total day/night cycle. it stops producing power before the sun even goes all the way down.
My advice would be to find an area with good wind and relocate your base there, as you probably set up on the nice flat area where you start out. My other piece of advice is to carry a carbon generator. fragmenter and 2 4x4 floor pieces in your tech, fit it with a tractor beam and drive around the outskirts of the swamp and fragment as much tantalite as you can find. Keep an eye out for AI swamp techs as they have one of the better guns for taking out the flowers, it's energy and has a really long range. It's called the L7 Aurora. You'll get more than enough niobium that way to make more wind gens.
Wind gens do 6,5kw all the time each. When a storm occurs they procduce like 10 times as much.
Solar Generators only work at day, thay give you up to 30kw each but they slowly climb up to this as the day start and go down again.
But even with 1 wind generator you can slowly fill your batteries while your out exploring.
Just build enough batteries. i have 48.
