I am so tired of dealing with the lightning
Is there some way of turning the weather related lightning off? If not, please add it.

Is there some point to the lightning other than adding in random set-backs? In my latest world start, it destroyed my tech within 5min. I feel like it’s hunting me.

I actually stopped playing the demo because the lightning storms got so frustrating.

You can put a lightning rod in your vehicle to make him imune.
Also, if you look more carefuly during storm, you'll notice "electric sparkles" on the ground, appearing few seconds the thunder actually strike.

Just don't stand in sparkles and you'll never be hit again :)

The rod also works for the lightning trees!

Thanks! I will give it a try!

I don't bother with the lightning rod. Just drive under a big tree during a storm. It'll block the lightning.

Storms were much more deadly during the demo. This EA, they seem to do much less damage.

If you put a lightning rod on your base, you can use it to charge your base batteries.

you mean the base batteries that only power your base if the carbon generator is also burning fuel? :D

you have to manually extend the rod. I think it defaults to shift or control, which you have to hold down to keep it extended, it's not a toggle.

Ah I see thank you.

Lightning won't hit if it's moving.
The lightning will strike where you were a few seconds ago, with a slight delay.
If you want to stop it, please stand still under a tree.

Since it is a machine translation, there may be problems with the sentences.

Thanks for all the good suggestions!

It doesn't have to be the carbon generator, it just has to be SOMETHING that adds a + to the grid. Its also an acknowledged bug and will be fixed. I haven't tested it but a lighting rod might be sufficient.

this is my solution to the lightning storms issue.

No lightning rods, just some light poles for now.
