Multiple Techs?
So, I have been playing and finally got a second cab. But when I tried to make a second tech (one for mining and the other to haul ore with) it wouldn't let me make one.

Idk if I'm doing something wrong or its not implemented yet. I ask only because we are able to make multiple in the original.

Thanks in advance to anyone who responds.

Did you make a second of the basic cab, or did you find a way to get one of the other Cabs? And if it's the latter, how did you do so?

Your may be able to use snapshots. You would still be stuck with 1 tech but you could switch between the designs easily.

To swap tech snapshots off base, you need the different pieces in your inventory on your tech, it doesn't matter that you have them in your Tech Yard.

I had built a second cab (narrow starter one) and tried to place it both on ground and as a part of the same tech (to remove later) the former was just "junk on ground" so to speak, and latter wasnt able to be detached

You are right, however I am trying to have separate techs and be able to swap between them.
@devs, if you are reading this please add or make easier to do so, ty

To all of the above; YES ! I want more than one vehicle!!! . one for mining, one for combat, one for exploring. We have ALL THESE parts and one vehicle to use them all on ??? WHICH because of reactor limits, 90% of it sits in silos

Well there is snapshot feature. Just snapshot your combat tech, rebuild it into mining tech, snapshot that one too. Then you just swap between them as you need them. You can make as many snapshots as you want. Whats the fuss? Also roadmap says multi-tech is coming later, so no worries.

Thank you for your input, I'll give it a try.

snapshot isn't like multitechs (1 Terratech)
its works perfectly (in most cases) on tech yard, on trip You may have some issues:
-swap cargo teh into ombat may cause lost of cargo and parts
-You don't carry on your tech additional parts for second tech to build, U need space for resources, ammo and loot from other techs,
-swaping snapshots instead having two (or more significat and different techs os problematic...

...I have many problems with my builds, I must put onto my teh everyhing and tis is not good at all beause this tech il lacking in firepower, is slow, and its fast overheating, when i'm mining (and fighting), and i have not as many as i would inventory for stufff (four medium or two large containers are not enough to carry)

This isn't like first TerraTech, you can't have the cake and eat it too, you have to pick - should you go with all round tech, that doesn't excel at anything, but can perform multiple tasks, but is terrible at lets say combat, or build one that is purely for resource gathering or one that is just for combat. I like this change in this game, because lets not fool ourselves, the original TerraTech had big problems of having very overpowered techs very fast, that did everything. Not sure about you, but for me that made the game very boring and very fast.

Being able to have multiple techs is on the roadmap, but as of now, we have to swap out techs based on what we want to do.

My suggestion for basic early-ish/mid game exploration tech is: 2 basic gun turrets, 2 mining turrets, 1 tractor beam, 2nd cab, that has 4 rows of inventory and 2 medium inventory expansions, 2 batteries, you can have that with 100/100 load (including armor) if you find the right axels and pieces, that reduce load of turrets. You can use mining lasers as weapons too, in combination with the guns and a bit of ammo, you can deal with most techs up to swamp area. If you're past that, then you're further in the game, but original suggestion still stand, have to create techs with a role in mind :)
