base building
feels like i should be able to stick my rig on the tech block so its floating and then get a "free to move camera" to allow for base building - is there a way to do this? full zoomed out is well way to zoomed in for my liking.
or do you have to do the awkward drive everywhere crap to build as if so I gona drop this as that limitation makes building anything large tedious as hell

Yes, as long as you are in inventory mode, you can drive your tech when you aren't holding an item.

Right click and hold to move the camera and scroll wheel for zoom level.

If that's not for you, that's just how it is.

But I'd recommend you at least keep it on your radar for when it releases, because here's a lot of features not implemented compared to the old TerraTech.

Who knows what they've got hidden up their sleeves after digesting the feedback they've received on the demo, maybe they'll add a freecam build mode for both Tech's and bases?

I hope there's a possibility to have a R&D lab where you can import your inventories and play around with the parts without any fear of interruption, sort of a hot swap between and you can import your R&D design into your current run.

Whatever your decision is going to be, best wishes and happy gaming :bot_happy:

I ran into an issue with piping the conveyor system up. the T shaped conveyor block there is no way to pipe it up to allow a clean base. there is no output for it when you are piping up Multiple blocks. you have to run more and more of the other conveyor blocks in order to attempt for automaton. but the silos do not have enough ports for that to happen.

So you're requesting that all base blocks with piping connections has at least 2 connections on the bottom of the block?

Hopefully within a 2x1 area, so the gap isn't visible from the top.

I see that as a required feature and hope it gets included in the game.

But for now, placing the producers and storage silos on a vertical wall, having a second layer in-between the producers as a cable canal of sorts, so you can modify it from backside of the wall and see minimal of the pipes on the front of the wall.

Since there's no request system yet, the silos with 4 connections can be a 2 or 3 to 1 merger, like the T is a 1 to 2 splitter.

Anything fancier than that is beyond the demo's automation system.

thanks for the answer will hold of until building is a bit better and driving up slopes isn't as bad as it feels atm
