If that's not for you, that's just how it is.
But I'd recommend you at least keep it on your radar for when it releases, because here's a lot of features not implemented compared to the old TerraTech.
Who knows what they've got hidden up their sleeves after digesting the feedback they've received on the demo, maybe they'll add a freecam build mode for both Tech's and bases?
I hope there's a possibility to have a R&D lab where you can import your inventories and play around with the parts without any fear of interruption, sort of a hot swap between and you can import your R&D design into your current run.
Whatever your decision is going to be, best wishes and happy gaming
Hopefully within a 2x1 area, so the gap isn't visible from the top.
I see that as a required feature and hope it gets included in the game.
But for now, placing the producers and storage silos on a vertical wall, having a second layer in-between the producers as a cable canal of sorts, so you can modify it from backside of the wall and see minimal of the pipes on the front of the wall.
Since there's no request system yet, the silos with 4 connections can be a 2 or 3 to 1 merger, like the T is a 1 to 2 splitter.
Anything fancier than that is beyond the demo's automation system.
