Silo
I thought the whole purpose in the silo was so you wouldn't have to feed your animals. I know I still need to interact with my animals, but unless I still feed them, with the silo, they will not produce product.

The silo is for storage the hay for the animals yo need to give the food manually on the coop or barn.

@SatiiSly It's not possible to put hay in the silo by hand (I THINK - didnt find a way to do so yet!). However, if you harvest grass in the wild or on your farm with an upgraded scythe, it will automatically be placed in the silo.

What is the point of a silo if you can't put hay into it? That makes no sense!

When you scythe grass you have a chance to get hay that goes directly into the silo. Then you remove it from the hopper in the barn/coop and put it in the feed trough.

Assuming you're familiar with Stardew Valley, it's mostly the same setup. The differences are that you don't get hay from Marnie to put into the silo manually, and as far as I know there's upgrade for an auto-feeder. Otherwise it's the same: Harvest grass, hay appears and goes directly to barn without passing through your inventory first, take hay from hopper in the animal house, put hay in feed trough, and repeat daily.

Yes, but as I withdraw hay to refill the animal troughs, it always pulls 6, even when I don't need six. So, I'm left with a pile of hay that I cannot return to the silo, and a pile of hay I made before I bought the silo that I cannot put in the silo. It still works, but is much less efficient than the silos in SV, as it is just there, and cannot be affected by the player. I now end up selling any extra hay on hand at the end of feeding animals, as I would have to use a chest to store it anyway. It just seems foolish as implemented.

should have a way to put the hay back into the silo

I just held on to the extra and put it in the trough the next day. Inefficient, perhaps, but not too much so

We will add an option to add to the Silo directly!
