Assuming you're familiar with Stardew Valley, it's mostly the same setup. The differences are that you don't get hay from Marnie to put into the silo manually, and as far as I know there's upgrade for an auto-feeder. Otherwise it's the same: Harvest grass, hay appears and goes directly to barn without passing through your inventory first, take hay from hopper in the animal house, put hay in feed trough, and repeat daily.
Yes, but as I withdraw hay to refill the animal troughs, it always pulls 6, even when I don't need six. So, I'm left with a pile of hay that I cannot return to the silo, and a pile of hay I made before I bought the silo that I cannot put in the silo. It still works, but is much less efficient than the silos in SV, as it is just there, and cannot be affected by the player. I now end up selling any extra hay on hand at the end of feeding animals, as I would have to use a chest to store it anyway. It just seems foolish as implemented.
We will add an option to add to the Silo directly!
