How does the Magic Broom work?

I final managed to get the Magic Broom for flying.
However the second I used it in my Hotbar it vanished from my Hotbar.
I can only assume it isn't used from the Hotbar.
However, I do not know how to use the Broom now.
It is gone, but it was unlocked. I assume there is a specific button I have to press to activate the Flying Broom.
Does anyone know what I have to press? I use the Keyboard and Mouse to play.

Are you sure you have the correct magic broom?

The one you get from Fiona acts like a Stardew Valley horse. It starts the day by your front door, you mount it, and off you go. If you lose track of it or leave it behind, it reappears near your front door the next morning.

The one you get from Michael is a cleaning tool, not a vehicle. That one sits in your hotbar until you use it, which sets it down where you're standing, and then it floats around that general area clearing away debris. It covers something like a 9x9 area, and you can buy more than one.

I got the one from Fiona. The one I got from Fiona was in my inventory like every bought item from Fiona. I used it in my inventory, and it vanished.
I'll check outside my front door in the morning and see if it appears there.
