That being said, sometimes there *are* answers--you can ask us here if you feel like you don't get who someone is or what something means. Some people have spent a looooot of time on all the places and people and references in this game. :)
You can also learn more about Lula, the clerk at the Bureau in the beginning of Act 2, by playing the interlude called "Limits and Demonstrations" that's available on the developers' website. That character has a lot going on.
There are definitely plenty of things to find that most people don't see the first time they play. If you go straight to your destinations on the map, for instance, you're gonna miss a lot of stuff. Keep going back to Equus Oils with each new friend you make in this game and you'll uncover more about everybody. Did a dude carrying a huge pair of antlers come talk to you when you were playing Lula at the Bureau? If not, you didn't dawdle as much as you could've in Act 1. :)
I do need to dwadle more as I play I feel like I need to do my job not goof off!
