I don't agree with the second part. At later stages of the game you have access to so many spells and your mana regen is so high you could just spam all spells and be done with any fight. Most fights with monsters with silence require a specific strategy like re-casting summon beforehand, using potions, using specific equipment, timing your spells correctly and so on.
In normal fights:
1. (manual) If it is a long fight and you are silenced in the very beginning - leave and come back for a new fight.
2. (manual) If it is a short fight or enemy has few hp left - just finish him off with normal attacks.
3. (auto) Doesn't matter what type of fight - just die or win on auto, and start the next one.
In boss fights:
1. 20 seconds silence - just wait through it using healing potions and defense
2. Final boss 120 seconds silence+60 seconds doom when he has less than 30% hp - interrupt it with stun twice (spell in protection school and potion) and finish him off during that time. Basically a DPS check. You can even add 8000 damage from poison potions if you failed to remove 30k hp before he finally silenced you. And you can even wear an anti-doom necklace to remove the death timer and survive with potions. Do the battle in slow motion (Time Dilation) so that you can get extra time by interrupting in the last moment.
Even if silence doesn't have a hard counter there are still a lot of ways to deal with the situation where you get silenced.
That isn't the final boss
