Monstium slowing everything down
Am I missing something? Certain upgrades are locked behind monstium why is simply bad to farm. I am using a oneshot build, but still - it takes forever to get enough monstium.

Building prices scale in a way that you cannot build anything anymore pretty soon. The only way to fix that is grinding for hours for a new upgrade in that lab-.-

I've just unlocked electricity. What do I do with it? I don't need stone or iron right now. They have been maxed for a few hours. I do need mana capacity or storage capacity -.-.

Larger housing for researchers: 5k
Cost reduction researchers: 12k
More inventory: 7k
Even more dorms: 13.3k

What's the point in having cheap upgrades that are mostly useless while the ones that are needed to go any step further cost like

Massive water tanks: 64k

Finally, I've got 16k for economical warehouses.

Welp, i'm just use oneshot build too, but after 5-7 min i'm get around 25k monstrium. This is low upgrade rn) After 4 dungeons ( after thunder tower) you will see 165k monstrium and special rare resource like ancient scroll. You can get 2x monstrium but you need a trigger event purple chamber thunder tower F2-F3 but this moster will always silence you (60 sec)
P.S all you need rn to complete 4 new dungeon, but to do this you will need a kill master of enchant and evocation(30 lvl) and also kill 3 monster in next dungeon to unlock divination tree. And maybe grind new events.
P.SS Also get a swift start if you wanna build cost a little cheaper ( You need to kill Ancient Headmaster ( Basement F3) under 12 min,and retire, building cost slower in 20%

There will be a way to farm it automatically (Breeding school) and even "potion" and spell to buff the production. Though potions would cost Monstium too they pay for themselves (unless you in early stage of the game I guess). But in the beginning it's hard to come by, I agree. You can focus on a new dungeons, storylines and retiring to unlock new schools and buffs

Breeding school solve the issue, and if you have something that feel like bottleneck/pain keep playing and you will get permanent progression that solve it

you can also farm bosses in dungeons with the charm spell (if a dungeon gives about 2k monstium per kill, the boss usually gives 25k~50k, and charm doubles that)

Currently, I'm on with nature and I've figured out, that it's best to not play and collect time pieces instead. With x2 speed, you do make some progress at a reasonable pace.

My production multiplier is 1.87% now. I'm using charm + regen + the third nature spell to farm about 125 monstium every 20 seconds.
It will take about 45 minutes to get 16k for a single upgrade. Thus, this game rewards you for not playing it, because only using the x2 or x7 multiplier, you can actually proceed.

At some point of time, I'll have enough apprentices + mana to farm higher levels increasing the speed of getting monstium. Right now, I get the most out of this game by not playing it -.-.

As what people are saying the breeding skill stuff usually makes it so you are getting 10k in a couple of seconds or 20k if you get monster candy . By the end game.

However, it also depends on certain builds.
If you go to the thunder place.
There is a random event which might assist you with the monstrium you are lacking.

Welp with thunder build i'm farm rn a golem it's give me under charm buff and purple chamber around 8k per 20 sec. 6100 mana ,silver staff bcs of crit and 887 mana regen.Maybe it's better to change element ? yes nature is good bcs it's not missed but it's a little slow and also some bosses anyway can silence mana but this is still your choice, my stats rn
Primary school and element Protection - Lightning
Real world time played (this run): 02:08:53
Real world time since starting this run: 19 days, 10:20:16
Total times retired: 21
Global research multiplier 184x
Global production multiplier 3.20x
but i'm have around 54 events of 94 rn....

the easy answer is if its taking too long to progress and you can't seem to make it farther then you should just retire.

Pick a new school so that you get the level of that school up as well for more bonuses and unlock more stories.

More stories = faster progress
Higher max school levels = faster progress

soon enough you will blow through ur current bottleneck and make it to the next one ... rinse and repeat till you get to the end of the game.

If you are having Monstium issues do the dungeon that unlocks as you unlock the tower, it will only have Trolls in it and a somewhat difficult boss at the end that is a bit of a DPS race. Defeating it will give you the key to solving your Monstium issues early on.

I've managed to beat that boss using nature. The key was not playing for a very long time and then using twice x8 speed while buring 30.000 time pieces. Retiring does not solve that issue, because I've been stuck at the same monstium grind for all 4 retirements. An increase of very few % only worsens the issue. I don't know if th breeding solves the issue, but I guess that I won't run into it again, because it's more likely that I won't play anymore unless I have time pieces in the bank. I'm kinda disappointed that I had to stop playing the game in order to enjoy it.

The Breeding will be 90% of your monstium income, and as Breeding level increaes you can send them to later dungeons, thus earning more monstium. The more creatures you have, the faster the monstium will come in. If you can get breeding high enough to allow the creatures into the tower of lightning you will be gaining monstium at a really good clip for early game, and any later dungeons you won't be waiting long at all.

Heck in the final dungeon of the game you will be 100k+ in seconds.

There is also an event in the lightning tower itself that pits you against a purple sprite that will forcibly silence you when the fight starts, beat it, and you will get a permanent X2 Monstium income storyline bonus.

I killed the sprite but it said the gem had no power and I didn't get credit for this storyline. What is the deal with that? I can't even find it on the stats list.

The purple chamber bonus activates after you retire, same as mimic from the school basement.
