I think I am in love... Other puzzle games like this?
Just started this game and Fez (great combo). I am only 1 hour in (at most) but my brain is sparkling already. I think I love this game. Sci-Fi mystery puzzle metroid-ish greatness. And the controls are smooth as butter. man, how good is this? (Fez is amazing too, in a different way).

I also loved, loved, loved Braid. (Limbo was okay too) I mean these are some really smart puzzle games. I need more of this. Portal comes to mind too. (I also bought pid and Nihilumbra).

But the market is growing and chosing good games becomes more difficult. I feel like "The Swapper" is one of the better games in that category so I feel very lucky.

I recommend Talos Principle, another game with simple items and amazing puzzles.

If you like this game, you would also like Dino Dudes. The trouble with Dino Dudes is that it's only available on the Atari Jaguar, which is a somewhat obscure console released in the early 1990s. Very similar gameplay, ignoring the obvious graphical and sound differences.

See 3:25 in this gameplay video. Here you'll see you take control of several clones at different parts of stages to complete an objective.

Antichamber. It's different but very fun.

Talos Principle - looks interesting - on my wishlist now. I have already exceeded my sale budget.

Antichamber - bought! ;-) was just within my budget because I scrapped another game.

And also thanks for the Atari game. I might "get a physical copy on ebay".

Alexx I've just learned that Evolution: Dino Dudes was released on other platforms including the Amiga and the Sega Genesis. On those platforms, it was called The Humans.

The Sega Genesis version should be much easier to find :)

Have you checked out "The Fall"? It looks kinda similar to The Swapper and it seems like a great game (haven't tried the fall myself yet but i will)

Hi Guys!

Well I was having hopes that BLACKHOLE might be good, but the controller support was piss poor. My 360 Gamepad did not work AT ALL on my Mac. I tried Antichamber but it was too chaotic for me. So I refunded both games and now I still have some Cash to spend. I still think the Talos game looks really interesting!

Will check out The Fall too.

I am almost done with the swapper and enjoyed it very much. Good puzzles, great story and atmosphere, sweet graphics and sound. Man, I recommend it to anyone who likes puzzle-platformers. Fez was great, Braid was great. I played a bit of Nihilumbra and it was interesting. It actually makes sense to play it with keyboard and mouse because you have to "paint" with colors. I have not tried Pid yet (have it in my library).

So yeah, I love good puzzle games (also bought puzzle agent for 1 Buck, he he he).

Still open for suggestions :-)

Teslagrad might be for you if you're into puzzle platformers. And It's only 0.99 now too :)

I agree that the Swapper is fantastic. If you followed the story at all, The Talos Principle actually has the same writer (Tom Jubert).

Yes I have already put Teslagrad on my list. I hear the bosses are annoying - but for 1 buck I might overlook that flaw.

Another puzzle platformer that I can recommend is "Thomas Was Alone". Very basic graphics but short, sweet and very enjoyable.

Happy new year!

Thanks Guran, I saw it on the recommendations and will check it out. I bought Teslagrad and first impression is good enough ;)

Another interesting game I picked up for 1 Dollar is Tiny and big. It also has a special weapon to use: a slicer. It is a bit like Psychonauts with puzzle elements. First impression is very good.

Another game I picked up was Offspring Fling, but mostly because it looks like Yoshis Island and I love that game. First impression: solid, but simple puzzle game in the style of Super Nintendo games.

And then I bought "Out There Somewhere". It is like Portal just as an 8-bit game. It is only 0.25 cents so absolutely worth it.

I refunded Trine, because my controller did not work :-/

Cheers!

Talos Principle shares a writer: it's a bit longer and a bit more complex. Buy this first.

Fez (despite what you think of the creator who didn't actually do much coding but then tried to wipe the coders' efforts from the credits) is very very good. Just play it and ignore the tripe/hype.

Waking Mars is a bit less puzzle based (it's more about understanding how to make an entire system on screen react how you like via different plants) but also very very good.

Buy those three, you'll be a happy person.

I have finished Fez and loved it. Great, great game. Now the sale is over and I have put Talos principle on my wishlist so it will be looked during the next sale. I wanted to play Portal 2 first before I buy Talos principle.

So thanks guys for your suggestions. I think I have enough games for a while (plaing alien isolation now) ;)

I too recommend the Fall. Puzzles aren't quite in the same vein, but the story is very good.
