The translation is better. There's a gallery where you can view the pictures of the endings/vacations you unlocked. You can see your stats on the side of the screen. The music is different. There's some more censorship.
Admittedly it's super pricy for a re-release, especially when the DOS version is still floating around.
I'm curious what censorship? Is it just to make it a bit more appropriate? And a little bit less cringe.
Some vacation images, some monsters, some event images while adventuring, and some ending images.
In particular the harpy looks completely different, which is a shame, she had this awesome creepy alien demon look before.
All of the ending and vacation artwork is completely redrawn. Even the ones that weren't 'censored' still are new art. Some of the new art is really cool, some of the old art is really cool... it's really a matter of preference.
It is a bit pricey but PM games tend to go half off pretty regularly so I would imagine it's only a matter of time before this one does, too.
I'm a huge fan of the original art (for everything, not just vacations), I think it looks way better than the new stuff. Of course, it's all subjective.
Yes, assuming the publisher isn't too used to Japanese online sale customs (it usually takes a long time for Japanese games to go on sale, and they tend to be very small sales at first), we'll see the game at -50% less than a year after it's out, like so many other games on Steam. The premium price is just for people who really want it now.
