What makes this version of game different from Refine?

All i'm seeing here is a slightly improved art style and maybe some animations. Though I can't discount the possibility that the animations were just made for the trailer.

Its still the same game at its core. Higher res assets and artwork, full controller support, more voice acting apparently and some quality of life stuff but in the end its still 99% identical.
Its just a release for a new generation on console mainly with the Steam version more of a bonus.
I dont think that you really need to buy this if you are happy with the Refine version, its not like you get a new game or a remake.
I will get it if its like 15 bucks or so because full controller support is nice for playing on my Rog Ally but if its more expensive i put it on my wishlist and get it someday when it falls below that pricepoint.

you can look at your daughter's stats on the right without needing to open another menu

we don't know if new intro is included, but we can assume so.

What to do: if ya already have Refine and ya can stand the translation, don't buy.
if ya don't, buy this new version.
if ya cannot stand censored artwork, play Refine or even better DOS english version (you can find it easily online for free and it has a good script even if it misses few endings ) look them up on the Princess Maker 2 wiki in case

extra stuff at the endings, more CG for events, a few QoL improvements, higher res and improved translation(maybe, it cant be worse right?)...

also the balls the devs had to directly say; playstation ver will have to be "adjusted", the other versions will be as initially intended, or something like that from what I read in their original announcement.

Tbf there _is_ an aspect of preservation of video game history, regardless wether the content at hand agrees with one or not.

if its a remake they should have added things from newer games like choosing your characters gender
