Report a translation problem
Well, that didn't work for me, I still get the Failed to Start Game (unknown error) thing. Any other methods to fix?
make sure windows, drivers, c/c++ runtime, .net runtime, directx runtime, etc are all updated
also post what is at end of last log file
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Focus Home Interactive\Cities XL 2012\log

rename (but be warned you will loose access to your cities)
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Focus Home Interactive\Cities XL 2012
to
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Focus Home Interactive\Cities XL 2012.org
verify game cache (just in case)
manually run
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Cities XL Platinum\vcredist_x86.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Cities XL Platinum\dotnetfx.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Cities XL Platinum\DirectX9\DXSETUP.exe
And what if there is no Focus Home Interactive file
