Game Application has stopped working

I downloaded Cities XL Platinum about 2 weeks ago. everything was running fine until today when i tried to get on and play. at the main menu i click play and it gives me this error "Cities XL game application has stopped working." what do i do to fix this so i can continue to play?

Please reset Cities XL Platinum:

1. Open the Local Disk (C:).
2. Open the folder Users.
3. Open the folder of the username.
4. Open the folder AppData (*)
5. Open the folder Local.
6. Open the folder Focus Home Interactive.
7. Delete the folder Cities XL Platinum.
8. Run Cities XL Platinum.

WINDOWS VISTA/WINDOWS 7
(*) The AppData folder is an hidden folder by default. To view this folder, click Organize from the top left then Folder and search options.
Click the View tab and check 'Show hidden files, folders and drives' under 'Hidden files and folders' in the 'Advanced Settings' window.
Click the OK button.

WINDOWS 8
(*) The AppData folder is an hidden folder by default. To view this folder, click Organize then Folder and search options.
Click the tab View and check 'Show hidden files, folders and drives' under 'Hidden files and folders' from 'Advanced Settings'.
Click the button OK.

I did as instructed however the game keeps posting the same message upon clicking play. and wont let me actually play the game

Please post your configuration:

1. Press the keys WINDOWS (bottom left) and R.
2. Type DXDIAG and click the button OK from the Run window.

System tab: Windows version, processor model (Processor) and the amount of RAM memory (Memory).
Display tab: name of the graphics controller (Name) and the driver date (Date).
Audio tab: name of the audio controller (Name) and the driver date (Date).

I'm experiencing the same problem. The game was working great Sunday. Now? Nothing. The weird thing is the game doesn't seem to want to stop synching.

Do you have a second graphics controller (AMD RADEON HD or NVIDIA GEFORCE) in your laptop computer?

No, that is the only Graphics controller on my system. the game does let me do the tutorials still, which doesnt seem to make sense to me if it were graphic related.

The game is too much unstable on an Intel HD graphics controller.

honestly 2gb is not enough for windows. steam adn a game with any sizable city and will result in poor performance and ur going to run out of memory

so your min req need to be updated if people r going to enjoy it... else u see all the complaints

The graphics driver incompatibality doesnt make sense because like i said...the game was working fine before and my laptop has always had this graphics driver. ALSO the tutorial still works which runs off that graphics driver.

i having the same problem. there is no Cities XL Platinum in my folder there is only Cities XL 2012 should i delete these ?

I have but keeps showning back up when I try and start Game again. I have Windows 8.1. Should I buy the no Steam Version because i really like On and Off Ramps and Real Commercial Buildings? Also deleted the files 2011 and 2012 Application to start game.
