Locking the chat background?

Does someone know how to lock the chat background? I managed to do that yesterday, but can't figure how I did it :S I bugged it somehow....
I changed the chat font thanks to a guide I found, but is still pretty difficult to read...

Oh, sorry if I wasn't clear.
The chat window has a background, that shows when you put the mouse on it, and fades off when you take it away.
The chat is difficult to read, since you can't change the font size, etc... BUT there is a way to "bug" it somehow, so it doesn't fades off, making the chat easier to read. I did it yesterday, but can't figure how :\

Ohhh, I accidentally did that once by leaving trade and party chat.
