Whats the Best Job for each Class?
Just curious on what job would suit each class best?

Early on, Swordsmen are best for blacksmithing because they can make their own armor and weapons. The light armor classes (Thief, Magician, etc.) are best for artisans for the same reason.

Alchemsists and chefs match any class. They both provide self-buffs and sustain out on the field.

The job system is supposed to work with any class, really.

I did realize too late that alchemists have a lvl 50 "throw potion" skill that heals for 750 points. This is pretty useless for my priest, but might be useful for a sorc trying to be a better single hit healer (can't remember the cooldown on it x.x)

swordsman and artisan don't usually work very well unless you're farming mats or making gears to sell

collecting mats from nodes is much worse than collecting mats from monster corpses.
I disagree. My Sorcerer's Alchemy is overleveled right now because nodes respawn so quickly and in the same place, making them easy to find and pick while leveling.

edit: however, it is still easier to get mats from slain mobs, but collecting from nodes is not a horrible experience.

TL;DR! All classes can fight monsters in solo -> collecting mats from nodes is much worse than collecting mats from monster corpses.

100% agree

I have a lvl 15 priest with lvl 48 alchemy... It took 8-9 hours of straight gathering, and this is my alt character. I gathered the three tiers of flowers in non-aggro areas, and then processed those, and then used mats from my main to craft boost pots for my main and guildies. Note that I spent about two hours farming mats on my main with aoe. So 11 hours of straight work to lvl alchemy up.

I think crafting is prohibitively expensive for lower level characters. I highly recommend this style of boost leveling at a higher job lvl (35-ish) or on an alt. It's fairly easy to get job lvl 35 if you follow the quest lines and keep up with the kharas so that you do them at the same time.

As a blacksmith I can tell you it's pretty easy to level. My rule is when I'm travelling on a path, to take all the ore on the path. I rarely make weapons, except for myself and some few people who needed it and just by creating ingots I'm 6 professional levels higher than my combat.

Lv 40. It is useful, even if you are a priest.
