More Chefs & Alchemists!
The game really has enough Artisans and Blacksmiths already, but I hardly ever see any chefs selling food or alchemists selling crafted potions, so when they do show up the prices are way high or they sell out in a hurry. If you're having trouble picking a job, I seriously recommend getting in on Chef or Alchemist atm while the market demand for them is high! :3

Ever since the drop rate changes it very hard to get the ingridents to make mid-level and high-level potions. You get just enough to make some for yourself and level. I had a level 11 Archer I started when the game launched on steam. I since started a couple other characters and haven't played the archer since. The level 11 has 24 Artisan and I didn't even try; was before the patch. I'm struggling to keep up on both Cooking and Alchemist on my level 30s now without having to buy mats on the AH for insane prices. I even had to borrow mats from my level 11 who had about 30-50 of each, which I guess is a bit ridiculous. If you buy mats from AH you cannot make any profit at all selling food or potions. AoE classes might have easier time farming these mats though.

I've found that leveling Chef is right a pain in the butt, but it's really worth the effort.

Definitely agreeing with Revolucas. The problem is with the awful drop rates, not a lack of people. My main is an alchemist (job level 42, normal level 31) and I get almost no firmament essences, which are a main ingredient in HP potions, and unfortunately in health regenerative foods as well. Herbs (and monster ingredients, for chefs) are easy to farm, but without the essences it's impossible, even when it's only 1 per 5 potions. The only people I've made potions other than myself are friends, who trade me the necessary essences to make them.

It's even worse at t4 potions when you need 3 of them to make one of the next level stone.

That's funny cause I'm a chef and I have all the trouble getting my food sold :/ I have to drop my prices to the minimum to sell something!

This, my Battle Priest as his own is already OP and has an insane sustain + being a Chef is like LMAO, all you need is Peco Peco buff for those high evasion bullies and Omega 3 buff for an atk and magic 15 points boost. it is not that hard to get the Spirit of ruin which is needed to build gelatine. once you have enought to make at least 30 peco or omega 3 buff food, your job level will go up fast.

I was lvl 10 or so and leveled up to 20+ in one sit making that food. But yeah, the drop rate changes killed my assassin, cause I went alchemist for leveling sustain and now I can't solo leveling anymore :(

They're being way too heavy handed with these drop rate changes, that's for certain. It's probably the same idiot making that decision who decided that super large bags should be marked up in the Kafra shop at $20. And then made a khara mission where people have to buy 3 of them. >_>
And then linked 3 of the Episode 1 bonus missions to that one. <_<
