Ragnarok Online 2

General Monk Questions
1. Do they benefit from both Int and Str for ATP with Spiritual Cadence?
2. Can you still use Aco spells after the respec at 25?

1. Yes. That's why it's important to have the same amout of STR and INT for better stat optimisation. You can start putting some points in STR as soon as you hit 20 stat points in INT. At level 25, you should have both around 20 plus a few remaining points.

2. No, you can't invest any point in them, meaning that, if you class change at 25, you'll have the three first skills of the monk unlocked (like any new character) and you'll have all of your acolyte skill points available, allowing you to start directly with some max level skills and a pretty advanced skill tree already.

The bad is you cant heal anymore, which was one of the best things in RO :(

Thats pretty lame.

In RO2, leaving a healing skill to the Monk would have been completly broken.
Currently, the Monk can be a really good class for tanking with his defense boost and his additionnal HP.
Also, as a Monk, you have one of the best skill in the game in terms of single target damage in the name of Guillotine Fist.
If you build yourself with some Agi, you can expect doing Double Critical GF.
Not to mention that you have some decent passive threat generation (+300% with Steel Body), a taunt and an AoE Threat generator skill.

Even a slight heal skill would have been overkill and really OP.

You can't touch anything. Germs are icky.
what else can monks do for healing besides pots/food? I'm not used to not having heal like in RO1, it's almost like a set back to not keep going.
Would stone skin be worthwhile for soloing? I'm mainly going for a dps build.

Yeah the skill tree for monks pretty much ruled out the possibillty of having aco skills because of game balance issues. Monks/Champs were so versatile in RO1 jack of all master of none sometimes better than one, could kill high def/low def/debilitate via dec agi and pneuma (anti range skill) /partial heals / MVP.

Monks are essentially tanks in this game atm (also we are in the small group that have no movemennt speed buffs but we do have a "snap" skill with delay... which everyone else has for the most part)
Guillotine actually has HORRIBLE dps (when compared to other classes)... (it takes 2 seconds to rotate through just to get to activate it and you cannot prep spheres ahead of time and run around as your spheres only last a few seconds if you dont use a skill unlike holy waters of aco skill) its just a nice burst dmg.
In terms of single target damage a rogue or assaasin could do more in one hit with a much better chance of criticals.
Also none of your equipment gives you agility (even though your a "melee class"... id like to figure how this worked out when they thought up this class...) but perhaps it was done to prevent easy critical Gfist rotations as you could use it 2 times in a row.
Also for soloing you really need stone skin unless you want to take alot of dmg or want to burn potions every chance you get.

Be advised that although they do have good threat generation ala easy passive mode and an aoe skill... your main threat skill is a aoe skill that only hits 3 targets max.... which makes tanking adds from bosses more cumbersome when compared to a warrior or knight's aoe that hits 10 or so max. IMO they are still fairly fun to play but dont expect much fun at pvp or being a heavy dps.
